Anybody know the frequencies used? If Kate is transmitting at 1 watt from space, that can be picked up quite away from the launch site. Ham radio guys communicate via cubesats that are orbiting, all the time, and those are usually only 500mW, and from 8 miles up they are easy to recieve and transmit to with a handheld and a Yagi antenna. Once you've got the ultimate high-ground the recieve footprint is usually pretty wide. Just curious as I'd love to be able to pick up these things when they are happening.

Evolution Space has posted a new video of the Gold Chain Cowboy launch. Besides the launch itself, this one also shows some of the activity behind the scenes before the launch. Launch operations started at 4:00am for the scheduled 8:00am launch. That's why a lot of the setup was in the dark.

Great video, love it! :headspinning:

I finally took the time to create a webpage with all the details of this flight in one place. Some of the material on that page has already been posted here and some of it is new. Including more photos, a Google Earth view of the trajectory and a photo of the avionics. Here is a link: https://www.multitronix.com/408k-flight.html

Amazing achievement, congrats to everyone who was involved! That is one cool looking rocket!
