Guess those PS3 sales really did matter after all.

tms.

BTW:
If you are considering an HD gaming system: the PS3 80 GB comes with WiFi built in, even the Xbox 360 Elite does not come with WiFi - it's an $80 add-on. More wires. Plus the Sony uses a regular power cord, the Xbox uses a brick. More wires. And the 1 USB port for the Xbox is in the BACK! It's such a pain. The PS3 has 4 USB ports on the front. The controllers for the PS3 have a battery recharger built right in - you just plug them into the USB ports on the PS3. The Xbox uses regular batteries or you have to buy your own recharger. And of course, the PS3 is a DVD player - upconverts to 1080P and plays Blu-Ray. Not so with the Xbox. The HD-DVD player is a $120 add-on, and it plays a dead format.

Halo 3 is pretty cool, but the network service is generally very overloaded and very laggy. And players drop like flies from the network games, leaving half the matches very unbalanced. Decent games for the PS3 are just now starting to ship, but there are lots in the pipeline.
