Ok, got hotel and plane tickets.

Reserved a rental car. Just got a standard full size. Will easily carry me and rockets.
Do I need an SUV?

Thanks.

Yes, I've been out since then. The rough patch is still there but avoidable.

I hear it's rougher than normal, I'm a ROC member and I haven't been out there since last September... the only launch they've had since then was April, and I couldn't make it. You CAN traverse the lake with a small car (like my Hyundai Accent...) but you'll be much happier if you rent a SUV if you're coming out for NSL. With a passenger car, you have to be very careful where you drive... it's easy to get stuck in a rut. You have to be careful with a truck or SUV too, but not quite as much.

Driving off-pavement always calls for caution. We will be marking the recommended route from Highway 247 to the launch site.

Most vehicles can drive on the lakebed, but low vehicles will have to be more cautious.

We will continue to monitor conditions and provide more updates as NSL approaches.
