I do suppose it is a moonburning White.

Also, Jeroen, do you have a photo and/or video of an N5800 static test you could post? I would really, really love to see that.

Jeoren,

Just curious...
Do you take pictures or video of every static firing? If so, why not make them available to everyone?

If Jeroen is interested, and wants to provide the images, I can create a CTI Motor Gallery

I'm going to say White Thunder as well. That is a big honking flame and it looks like the nozzle throat is pretty wide. :headbang:

speculation: N7000 WT

More like an N1500, but a bit higher kick off the pad. And different PRO(TM)pellant too.

If this is a hint for us to work on a larger WT reload; we got your message ;-).

No, not nearly every test. Just now and then. When we are certifying motors, I prefer to focus on ensuring everything gets recorded and that everyone is safe. Tom from CAR usually takes at least one photo and/or video of each motor-type we test.

Let me check. I think Tom probably has one. Problem is that with most firings the smoke lingers and the flame gets obscured really quickly.

I'd prefer a gallery of motors in action. Usually much nicer to look at than the test stand. CAR already has quite a few CERT photos in the overview of their web site:https://www.canadianrocketry.org/motor_index.php. For example https://www.canadianrocketry.org/mcc_motor.php?c=3&motor=14263-N3400-P.

I assume this will be available by AirFest? The project I'm helping a friend with, this just might be a perfect motor for it, and that's when the flight is planned.

Thats awesome! I've been to the CAR website many times but was never aware of this database. This will prove to be very helpful in selecting motors for my rockets. Thanks for posting.

Kevin, I think you bought this load right? If so be sure the rockets prepared for it LOL that thing is a BEAST!!!

I did. I haven't built the rocket, yet -- it's one of many that I want to have ready for AirFest.

Imax is pretty much the best; I like it for the flame and smoke.

I want some more mid-sized Imax motors... 38 and 54mm 4G's. However, from what I can tell, better flames always come from long motors; the 38mm J530 has a much better flame than the short 75mm's, despite the lower total impulse and similar thrust.

Justin thanks so much for posting. Yeah for a rocket that big and a 110lbs it really did rip off the pad.

Here is a Rocketry Warehouse Formula 150 on a CTI M2250 C-Star. Gotta love C-star Propellant! Hit 8,791'.:D
Yes, the flame is as long as the rocket!
