A video showing why I think referring to the crew as Behnken and Hurley would be much better than referring to them as Bob and Doug. I hate it every time I hear it. IIRC, in the past astronauts were referred to in the media by their last names. First names are too informal, IMO.:

Of course, since they are claimed to be long time friends, joke around a lot, and are old enough to remember Bob and Doug McKenzie, maybe they want to be called "Bob and Doug" and may even be thinking of that skit when they do so.
