We've taken our classic TeleMetrum design and updated it with all new components. Same feature set, but better in every way. TeleMetrum v2 is a dual deploy flight computer with 2 pyro channels, 105g accelerometer, 100k' barometer, uBlox Max 7Q GPS and >30mW telemetry system with APRS support.

Our original ground station TeleDongle is also back at last, as a part of the Altus Metrum Starter Pack. Each Starter Pack includes a TeleDongle USB-connected ground station for laptops running Linux, Mac OS X or Windows, a battery compatible with any Altus Metrum flight computer, a USB cable, and an Altus Metrum cut vinyl decal.

We're also pleased to have TeleMega back in stock! TeleMega is an advanced flight computer with 9-axis IMU, 6 pyro channels, uBlox Max 7Q GPS and >30mW telemetry system with APRS support. We designed TeleMega to be the ideal flight computer for sustainers and other complex projects

"Starter pack" seems like an odd name for something that has no functionality by itself, or am I missing something?

Very good to hear! I've been coveting the TeleMetrum for a while... gonna get that fixed real soon...

Later!

Well it goes well with either of the TeleMetrum or MegaMetrum, and it supplies everything else you need (the receiver, the battery, the cable, and most importantly the decal).

It makes more sense, now that they have both of those, to stock the starter materials separately from the altimeters.

We used to sell something called the 'Starter Kit', which was a TeleMetrum, TeleDongle and misc bits needed to use it. Now that we've got two different ground stations (TeleDongle and TeleBT) *and* two different flight computers (TeleMega and TeleMetrum), we decided to not try to bundle all possible combinations and just take everything from the Starter Kit except the flight computer and call that a Starter Pack. We wanted to keep the word 'Starter' in the name so that people who had seen the Starter Kit would know what to get...

I used the TeleMetrum in my L3 flight. LOVED knowing that the rocket was descending at a stable rate (Drogue deployed, not a lawn dart). And I was able to count down the feet until main deployment (1200, 1100, 1000 Now-POP). Then I used the GPS and walked straight to the rocket from the closest road.

On another note, I'm an Air Traffic Controller* and when I got my Ham Radio License I was told "Now you can talk to people you don't know over the radio". Uh, you mean like I do every day at work?

* Yes, we do know what the weather is like at your launch site. https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/weather/asos/

Been waiting for this since my last was TeleMetrum destroyed in a CATO last June. Had to switch to a BRB, but prefer the TM because of the ground station is far superior-- on pad status and once in flight tells you (literally) what's going on and where to look.

Put in my order yesterday.

I couldn't find the mounting hole spacing and size for the telemetrum 2.0 on the website.

Could you please point me to this information?

Thanks

We have these in the giant altus metrum documentation, but didn't have them split out for separate download and easy printing. I've made pdf versions for EasyMini, TeleMini, TeleMega and TeleMetrum available in our Documents directory https://altusmetrum.org/Documents/. I've also added links from each of the product pages. These are designed to be printed at full scale and used as drill templates.

Bitdefender does not like something about the main site for some reason (however it has no problem with the documentation area). I get this message.

"Malware detected!
Access to this page has been blocked."

I recently purchased the EasyMini. The template for the EasyMini shows an "up" arrow". The EasyMini itself does not have an arrow (at least I couldn't find one.) From the LARGE manual I found "Ejection charges are wired directly to the screw terminal block at the aft end of the altimeter." I have mounted the EasyMini with the screw terminal block aft in my AvBay. Is that correct? Just checking before I launch.

Thanks,,
StanO

The EasyMini is a barometric altimeter. Mounting direction shouldn't worry it.

As Matthew says, there's no orientation requirement for EasyMini; I should probably take the arrow out and replace it with a simple picture of the components. I've even flown EasyMini mounted sideways.

Got mine on order, can't wait!

By the way, anyone have the LiPo battery from the starter pack they can measure for me? The dimensions of the TeleMetrum board are on the site, but not of the battery. Maybe the battery could be added to the PDF with the board dimensions?

Anyone have the LiPo battery from the starter pack they can measure for me?

They're these batteries: https://shop.gag.com/parts-and-accessories/850mah-polymer-lithium-ion-battery.html

From my adventures getting them ordered, I learned that the 'model number' is actually a description of the size; these are model 063048, which means they're 6mm x 30mm x 48mm.
If the first digit isn't a zero, then the batteries have a fractional size, so a 652535 battery would be 6.5mm x 25mm x 35mm.

Of course, these are nominal sizes; they're made of a flexible material and can be up to 6.3 x 31.5 x 50mm, so make sure you don't try to fit them too precisely into anything.
