AeroTech Wart Hog?

I am building a Wart Hog and have prepainted the pieces. I'm looking for suggestions on attaching the 4 rails that run the length of the body tube.

I would dry fit a strake on the body, then trace around it with a pencil. Remove the strake from the rocket. Sand the bottom of the strake to remove any paint, then use a small piece of sandpaper and sand within the pencil lines until paint is removed from airframe. Then glue down the strake for keeps using medium or thick CA glue. Stand back and admire. Repeat 3X.

My past experience as described has led to the CA turning the paint adjacent to it white.

I've been thinking about gluing some small wood blocks inside the rail, which is shaped like an upside down U and then epoxying the wood to the Rocket, sans the sanding.
