Mfg. Description: SENTRA SRB 12 is a side-staged pod release rocket. It offers dramatic in-flight action in conjunction with the high performance of the main central rocket. The "Interchange Mount"-tm in the main body offers many motor options. Much like the Space Shuttle, SENTRA SRB 12 releases the pods in mid-powered flight upon booster motor burnout. This is why very short delay motors are used in the side pods. Long burn central motors are best for good post boost performance. Includes 152mm, 98mm and can accept 54mm, 7-38mm "Interchange Mount"-tm options. The large stable design makes SENTRA SRB 12 excellent for large payload or sport flights. Try an on-board camera in the large payload compartment or even the side pods! It features THREE of our giant 36 inch long 12 inch diameter fiberglass nose cones. SENTRA SRB 12 can accomodate H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O motors. A layer of fiberglass is highly recommended as are motors on the longer end of 98mm and the shorter end of 152mm.
SENTRA SRB 12 can be slightly modified to accept new dual deployment systems and altimeters. The payload can be deployed on both sides of the coupler or both sides of the payload tube. Staging is accomplished by the pods ejecting and are designed to "fail safe" in the event of a misfire or pod only ignition. As originally seen in Mike Nelson's beautiful High power Research Magazine in the 80's, the original HPR magazine.
All U.S. Rockets 12 Inch series kits feature feature pre-cut plywood fins, heavy duty airframe tubes, strong recovery harness, illustrated assembly and flight instructions, decal and all the high quality parts needed to successfully assemble and fly a high power rocket. Launcher, motors, parachutes, glue, sandpaper, sealer and paint not included. Please Note: Parachutes additional. Paint schemes for illustrations are the artist's rendition and are done for graphic presentation purposes only. Actual color schemes should be left to the personal tastes of the builder. At this advanced level the user is expected to provide his own parachutes, altimeter, and where appropriate fiberglass layer. All USR kits are dual deployment capable. (USR 2013 Web Ad)
