Finally finished. Core is 24mm, boosters 18mm. I am thinking a D5 with two B6's for the first flight.

After that, it's time for an F32!

Nice! I have to get back to building my Micro Sentra SRB.

Not to get too off topic for a gallery thread, but how did you go about filling the gaps in the airframe where the vent holes on the outboards and the airframe line up?

I used the simplest technique - there are no vent holes to connect. I saw no situation in which I would want to use the outboards for the delay/ejection, so I left that step out and plan on always using the core motor for ejection.

Welcome to the USR Sentra SRB Gallery on TRF.

This gallery showcases the USR Sentra SRB and those rockets derived from it. Particularly appropriate in this thread are the following:

USR: Micro-Sentra SRB: #1181
USR: Sentra SRB: #1063
USR: Sentra SRB (2.7"): #1187
USR: Sentra SRB (6"): #1128
USR: Sentra SRB (12"): #1169

as well as any upscales, downscales, clones, kitbashes or other derivative works. Even Goonies qualify!

USR Sentra SRB (#1063) Basic Information.

us%20rockets.gif
U.S. Rockets (USR)

MODEL NAME: Sentra SRB Also known as:

NUMBER: #1063

Introduced:
Final Year:
Designer:

Type: Sport, Payload, Parallel Stager
Motor Mount: 1x66mm or 1x29mm or 3x 29mm/2x29mm
Recovery: Parachute/Parachute/Parachute
Stages: 1 + 2 Parallel
Length: 88"
Diameter: 4"
Span:
Weight: 1350g

Mfg. Description: SENTRA SRB is a side-staged pod release rocket. It offers dramatic in-flight action in conjunction with the high performance of the main central rocket. The Interchange mount in the main body offers many motor options. Much like the Space Shuttle, SENTRA SRB releases the pods in mid-powered flight upon booster motor burnout. This is why very short to zero delay motors are used in the side pods. Long burn central motors are best for good post boost performance. Includes 29mm, 3-29mm, 4-24mm interchange mounts. This efficient design has a drag reduction shrouds on the booster stages. All three stages can recover by parachute and the rocket has good motor versatility, so it is a real pleasure to build and fly. It uses Discontinuous Staging™ to permit parachute recovery of both stages. Discontinuous Staging™ is used on designs where the stages have no direct flame path and permits the lower stage to be recovered by parachute.

SENTRA SRB can be slightly modified to accept new dual deployment systems and altimiters. The payload can be deployed on both sides of the coupler or both sides of the payload tube. This rocket is recomended for science work. It flies surprisingly well on 2 F80-4 to G30-4. Best flights are with USR 2 H240-4 to I65-8. SENTRA SRB has been successfully tested with as high of power as 2 H160 to K250-12 with a payload. Its very strong and lightweight construction makes it fly surprisingly high compared to other rocket kit brands. Test it for yourself!

All U.S. Rockets Experimental Rocket Series kits feature pre-cut plywood fins, heavy duty airframe tubes, strong elastic shock cord, illustrated assembly and flight instructions, decal and all the high quality parts needed to successfully assemble and fly a high performance model rocket. Launcher, motors, glue, sandpaper, sealer and paint not included. (USR 2013 Web Ad)
