    Performance hobbies

Hi does anyone know a reliable contact for performance hobbies? I've been trying to reach Ken for a couple weeks and haven't been able to get ahold of him. I've tried the number on the website and the email on the website. Thanks for any suggestions.

    How old are you?

Yeah just like it says. Trying to see the makeup of this forum and hobby in general, age is just a number, but, as most of the older generation knows, life sort of compounds itself into stages, not unlike rocketry and hobbies in general.

    Amw proX

Awesome customer service. Placed an order after black Friday and Robert still threw in a discount code for me, even refunded me after I forgot to put the code in (doh!). Shipping was fast and reasonable, and to my best judgement carries the most cti stock of anyone. Definitely will be ordering...

    calculating max Q

so here's something i've been grappling with. max Q (maximum dynamic pressure) will be different for every rocket and every flight profile i assume. the formula (via wikipedia) for Q (dynamic pressure) is q=1/2pv^2. where p is the air density and v is the velocity. so calculating dynamic...

    3lb rocket on a g54

i've had a hankering to fly my lvl 1 rocket for a while now...but i also want to get into some cesaroni hardware. so the specs are, the rocket is a bsd 38spl. it's got a grand total of two flights on it. one on a (old style) G80-4T, and one on an H128. G80 got about 700 feet, and H128 got it...

    worlds largest bottle rockets

these things are COOL. from what im told, the motors are 100% black powder. they apparently do this in thailand. of course, not exactly amateur or model rocketry, but how can you not love that takeoff/exhaust plume. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwCRW5BwrhU&feature=related

    found some things

actually, a very old man, whom i have had the pleasure of shooting fireworks with on occasion, asked me today "hey are you by any chance, into model rocketry?" i said yes, and he handed me a bag. the contents of which are displayed below. my question is, are these motors still certified? how...

    dual deploy options

so here's the deal...a few years ago i built a BSD 38spl. it's currently my only HPR rocket, and i want to set it up for dual deploy. i built it stock initially, and, now im going back and beefing it up from head to toe. eventually i'd like to fly it on punchy loads and I's, but i'd like to...

    fireworks

thought you guys might enjoy this... my buddy scripted the mid portion of this show (4:00-7:00) for dominator fireworks company. the show was created as part of a trade show for the fireworks industry. this was the winning display of the convention. he will be firing another pyromusical as...

    CG/CP relationship in stick rockets

i assume bringing the CG as far back as possible would be the optimal design for a rocket, such as a bottlerocket. something finless, relying on the weight of a stick for stability...what role does the CP figure play in a finless rocket of this design? is it simply overcome by the rearward...

    re-finishing a rocket

i have a rocket i'd like to re-finish...the fin roots are fiberglass filleted in there and they look pretty sloppy...i did a poor job finishing this rocket several years ago, and i'd like to make it look nice now. would i be better suited to remove all existing paint via sanding, or just scuff...

    expansion ratio's...and other fun stuff

couple things im wondering about...slightly more on the technical side of how rocket propulsion systems work, so here goes... "expansion ratio is the exit area of the nozzle divided by the throat area", is one statement i came across and found myself wondering about... is it incorrect to...
