    Paranormal Activity?

I lived in a Lighthouse Keepers Quarters for 25 years and yes it was haunted. Many strange things happened, too many that I can not explain. Some left me stunned and freaked out. Here is an example...one night I was awaken to harpsichord music. All the TV's and radios were off and the music came...

    XFL - Anyone watching?

I prefer to watch major league rugby rather than the XFL. I played rugby in my youth and I always enjoy a good game. Coming soon will baseball, so, no time for the XFL.

    Spam Calls

My landline has an answering machine plugged into it. I have the machine set to the max amount time to record your message. I simply say, "thanks for calling"...then the machine plays dead air for 30 seconds. You can here the gum chewing in the background, some clicks, then they hang up. My...

Does anyone here use an anenometer?

I purchased a hand held HoldPeak HP-866B-WM anemometer from Amazon. I works great and I use it for bow hunting, flying my rockets and drone and fire department incidents. The cost was $43 and it has thread holes on the bottom and threads on a camera tripod. It has built in barometer, retaliative...

    Time to give up

I know how you feel. At 73 I still fly, mostly LP from my back yard, but the tide has to be out and then there is two rivers that could drown my rockets. If the wind is right I fly. I have had to reduce my hunting for deer and elk because knee surgeries (tendons) and I do not want to be laying...

Do you guys journal or log your rocket flights?

I do the same thing as Exactimator, but I also add the flight times of each of my rockets to my records with total of flight minutes/ hours if they last that long. It makes interesting reading as you look over your history of rockets flown.

    Rocket Motor Test Stand Video

Thanks Winston. Several years ago I built a 2x4 test stand for old ACP motors. I was testing out methods of removing crud from the old propellant grains. The stand worked good for my purposes and less costly.

How to Woo a Gal with Models

You know, I never bought the magazines because of the model on the cover, but for the Technics on building and flying. During the 60's I was in to rockets, rc planes and hydro's and neither of those attracted females. I had better luck in church lol.

Pulled over in Indiana for DWH

Back in the 70's I was return home from my date's house in rural Washington State and I was in good spirits. I was over the speed limit, lost in the ether of the night when I got pulled over. The Officer asked me where I had been at this hour of the night and I told him her name. He looked at me...

Country Music by Ken Burns on PBS

An outstanding series and it brings back memories of sitting on the floor and listening to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio. Yes, I'm dating myself and the only downside now, is that I have some of those great old songs rattling around in my brain.

Amazon product "review" games - always beware

What I have found, is that when you are reading the reviews, some of the reviews are not for the product that you are interested in. I found one yesterday when reviewing microwaves and it was a statement about having a camera inside the oven! Camera? A camera wasn't even listed in the product...

Apollo 13 might have had another serious problem... at launch

If the I-beam had punctured the Saturn V, we most likely would have lost the crew at lift off. Thanks Winston.

What are you doing for the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing?

I will be reading my 50 year old copies of Life magazines and the Seattle Post Intelligenter from those historic days. I saved every (well all most) copies of Life that had some to do with space flights and copies of the PI. I missed out on a lot of the television coverage of Apollo 11 because...
