Personally I like the engine hooks rather than the snuggy tape trick to hold the motors in. I do put an engine block in for the biggest motor I can fit in and then just use a spacer for the smaller motors. I am assuming that you have a 24mm motor tube. You can always rub some epoxy on the thin edge of the fins to harden them. That way they will stay sharper longer.
