Did anyone ask Estes about the rumored Mercury Atlas re-release?

The Atlantis is my favorite Estes rocket. It was one of my first rockets also so it has some personal sentimental value as well. The Atlantis is not terribly difficult to clone since you have the decals.

I'm looking for a hi res scan of the Estes Damon Era "Mars Snooper II" kit panel card if anyone out there has one. I would also be willing to purchase one if you don't have a scanner but have an extra you don't need or want.

I totally agree with those 2 statements. My disappointment with the content of a particular catalog year is NOT intended as an indictment of Estes or it's direction. And I am thankful that we still have a very well done physical catalog to enjoy.

Color me underwhelmed. Other than the BBXII, I didn't see a lot to jump up and down about. Was expecting the Mercury Atlas...maybe that is coming later? Pro Series Goblin is nice, but no new Designer Signature Series? At least my bank account won't get worked over too hard. Sorry, but this...

Would love to see the Mars Lander brought back for the Destination Mars line. But Semroc kind "satisfied the demand" for that kit with their fairly accurate clone. Still, I'd buy another one...or two...three 😏

Not the bagged version with white nosecone and fins, but the original chrome nosecone and fin version that came in Citation a box (see below). If you have one and don't have the ability to scan it, even a series of pictures I could stitch together to make a hi-resolution print would work.

Reviving this thread as I just picked up several of these kits. I've had the LEM kit for years now but never built it. Also picked up a few of the recommend tools. I've done a fair bit of PE for static models and this just looks like that on steroids. I'm going to start with some easy ones...

The kit I show in the video is the Star Trek starter set which was molded in yellow. As for using colored resin, I was trying to get as close as possible to the color of the original plastic...or at least the color as shown in the catalog renderings. But if you've found a resin that is close...

Very interesting. I never realized it was the same rocket. I wish I would have known that before I filmed the introduction so I could have included that little tidbit. Thanks for sharing that.
