    Estes A3-6T availability

I used a pack of 1/2A3-0Ts flying my Beta (Estes 0845) kit back in the mid-90s. They worked well, especially on small fields. I wish Estes still made them.

    Old RMS 24/40 packaging

I remember picking some E18 and F24 reloads back in 1994 that were packaged in single packs. Those loads were changed to 3 packs sometime about 1996-1998 when Aerotech started stamping the manufacturing date on the instructions.

Need source material on hybrid propulsion

I can probably count on one hand the number hybrid motors that I have seen launched since 2010. In 2005, probably about 40%+ of the HPR flights that I have seen were hybrids. I think that the complexity of the hybrid GSE and extra requirements (electronic ejection) to fly hybrids have seen...

    Aerotech 18MM rms

Aerotech actually produced and sold B6, C4, C6, C12, and E27-4 reloads for the Aerotech RMS-18/20 case back in the early 1990s. They discontinued a few years later the mid 90s due to low sales.

Old Quest DC-Y Model - Not the #3004 Kit

If the tube is a little larger than a BT-20, it is probably a a Quest T-20 tube. The ID of the T-20 is 19mm. The nose cone looks like a MPC/early Quest version of the PNC-20.

    AeroTech Open Thread

Aerotech does discontinue stuff form time to time. I have not been able to buy B6, C4, C6, C12, and E27 18mm reloads for more than a decade. I also can't F14s for about the same amount of time. Further, G33 29/40-120 reloads have been not been made since the 2001 Aerotech fire. I would like...

    Estes Avenger Body Tube Length

They switched to a full length BT-55 when Estes made the change to the PNC-50Y for the nose cone. The ARCAS (K-26/1226) was probably switched at around the same time. Estes was probably trying to save some money by not having to carry the BT-55V.

    Long term APCP storage.

Personally, I would keep AP motors in a airtight container with some silica gel packets, if I was storing them for several (10+) years. Otherwise, I prefer to keep my AP motor stock low so they don't get very old before use.

Has anyone noticed high variability on the visuals of Skidmark motors?

Personally, I think the most impressive sparky motors were the Silver Streak motors from Rocketflite. Very low smoke and lots of sparks.

    Fairly old AT F50-4T

Your motor was born on 4/27/1994. My experience with motors this old is that the delay will run long. About 6-7 seconds instead of 4 in this case. Unlike White Lightning, Blur Thunder ages pretty well and does not swell up as much as WL, especially in the humid Southeast. I would recommend...

What kits should Estes bring back?

Available from Semroc/eRockets KC-4 (0653) version available from Semroc/eRockets Centuri KS-1 (5131)/Estes 1921 version available Reissue teased in Estes 2018 Catalog Reissue of any kits unlikely due to licensing fees. The Cylon Raider was never released at all; Universal did not like...

    Aerotech Mustang parachute size

The Jolly Logic Chute Release works fine with the stock parachute. I would set it to release at 120m or 150m. The small parachute size is designed to minimize drift. The Aerotech kits in general are pretty rugged.

    Mini Commanche 3 - Color?

The Mini-Commanche-3 uses the PNC-20A, the same nose cone used in the Viking, Wizard and many other Estes BT-20 based kits.

What? No love for the BT-56?

BT-56 is the Estes name for the old Centuri ST-13 tube. eRockets still sells them as ST-13s. There were a number of classic Centuri kits that used that size of body tube. The first use of BT-56/ST-13 in an Estes was the Astrocam 110 (1327) to keep people from using other rockets to loft the...

Lightweight battery for launching G motors and clusters?

Your battery should put out at least 12 volts. Most composite igniters require 12v launch systems. A pair of six-cell RC car battery packs will do the job.

    Two more reissues from Estes

Just put a nose block in the middle tube joint. It is much easier to transport the Mean Machine in two 3' sections than a single 6' length.

    Estes C6 vs Quest C6?

The Chinese made Quest C6 are more like C4 motors. They tend to work better with light, low-drag rockets than heavy, draggy rockets. An Alpha would be a great choice for the Quest motor, but a Fat Boy would not be.

    I95 SU motor

As long as the BP is kept dry, it should work just fine. It is the AP-based parts of the motor that are really affected more by aging.
