Smart Launch app on iPhone 6 and iPad mini

Does anyone here use the SmartLaunch on an iPhone 6 and iPad Mini? It's supposed to share the data between the two devices. Mine won't. I've gone over the settings with the developer and everything appears to be right.

    Why didn't it work.

I flew the same rocket twice at NARAM this week. It's 4" diameter fiberglass dual deploy with two altimeters. For the first flight on a K everything was fine. Drought at the top and main at 300 feet. Only one main charge fired but that's why I have two altimeters. I cleaned it up double checked...

    NARAM 56 vendors

Does anybody know if there will be a vendor selling e-matches and black powder? I'm flying a rocket at least once that will need four charges. I can ship the rocket to myself at the hotel and I can have a reload shipped there. In a pinch I can use flashbulbs but I know of no way to ship black...

    Kosdon 38mm x368mm casing

Among some other stuff our club was given is a used Kosdon 38mm x 368mm casing. Reloads aren't made for it any more and we're a NAR section so we don't do EX at our launches. Is anybody interested in it for $60 plus shipping?

    foam

I've got to fill the space between a 4" body tube and a 54 mm motor mount with foam to lock the fin tabs in place. Does anybody know of a one part foam that will do the job? I was looking at this and the review said it was used to fill a cavity in a boat by drilling a hole and shooting it it...

    S & T test session

Based on the last time a picture from an S & T session got posted, it seems a lot of people like to play guessing games. We tested some today. I can't tell you who made the motors or what the designation of the motors is until they're officially certified. I can post this totally useless video...

    presentation materials

Our club has been asked to do a presentation on model rocketry at a model airplane club meeting. The guy doing the presentation asked me if I have anything on mid or high power rocketry that he can use in his Powerpoint presentation. Does anybody have anything we can use?

    folding fin units

I have three 1" folding fin units that I'd like to get rid of for $7.00 each plus shipping. I can take payment by PayPal. One important disclaimer. These are metal. As far as I know that can't be flown at any NAR launch and I know for sure that they can't be flown at any CMASS launch. I bought...

NASA joins the war on Christmas?

I was watching the spacewalk this morning. At the beginning there was small Christmas tree on one of the consoles right in the middle of the picture. A little later it wasn't in the picture but there was one(maybe the same one?) on one of the rear consoles. A couple of Santa hats remained. I...

    timers

Cleaning my workshop continues. This time I'm getting rid of a bunch of timers. Here's what I've got: 3 Galejs Tiny Timers 1 Perfectflite Mini Timer 1 PbP Switch Selected Timer 1 Transolve T2 Timer All are old and have been flown. To the best of my knowledge they all work but I can't guarantee...

    magnetic apogee detectors

As I continue to clean my workshop I've found a few things I'd like to get rid of. This one is four magnetic apogee detectors. Two are complete with switches and battery holders. They were working when last used a few years ago. I'm pretty sure the other two were functioning when removed too...

    Pratt ECS-2B event control system

This is a vintage Pratt event control system used to fire up to two ejection charges by radio. Its technology is a couple of generations behind what is available today. I can't guarantee anything without actually flying it again but it worked when I used it many years ago (the instructions date...

never flown to L1 in one step?

At our launch this weekend we had several college students from a major engineering school in Cambridge do Level 1 certification flights. Some were successful, some were not, most didn't have a clue about the basics. I really don't care to hear "but the software says it's stable" ever again...

    J330 problem

Has anybody got an unfired CTI J330 that you could measure for me? I'm trying to figure out what happened with one I used last weekend. The attached file shows the J330 thrust-time curve above the axial acceleration from the flight as recorded by a Raven altimeter. I tried to make them close to...

    "small" test stand at MSFC

I was at the Marshall Space Flight Center last week as part of the NAR crew for the USLI/SLI launch and had the opportunity to see their small solid motor test stand up close. I took pictures. The small stand is about 1000' away from this one which was used to test the Saturn I first stage...

    CMASS TARC launch

Here are a couple of photos to show you how dedicated the CMASS members are in getting a practice and qualification launch in for the local TARC teams. The launch site is 3/4 mile by foot (and sled) from the parking lot.
