    Eggtimer Quantum - A WiFi-Enabled Flight Computer

Just order the Quantum and the Wifi-Switch. Anyone got an online referral for buying the needed lipo battery and a mounting clip? I've only used 9V batteries to date. Thx, W

    Multi-band receiver replacement?

Maybe the FT-60R? Looks like the VX-6r doesn't cover the range.

    Multi-band receiver replacement?

Hi, My yupiterU MVT-9000 just died after many years of service for me and the person that owned it before me. I was curious if the Yaesu VX-6R would be an economical replacement. My transmitters are around 217.055 (old walston xmitters). I don't need GPS or anything like that...

    Rocksim and Openrocket Compatility

I've been using Rocksim for some time now, but it appears to me that OpenRocket may have some features that I'd like to utilize. It also looks like OpenRocket opens the RockSim files just fine. Question: If I modify the design in OpenRocket and save it, will Rocksim be able to open the...

    Level 3 Build Frenzy 4" (+1 other 75mm rocket)

Hi, Well, the Cert flight went perfectly!! The maiden flight of the rocket was on a K560 and I'm glad I did a test flight. One of the parachute cords go a little burned and prevented the main chute from fully deploying. Fortunately, no damage. Adjusted the main charge down just a little (4...

    Level 3 Build Frenzy 4" (+1 other 75mm rocket)

GJ, I bent them by hand, pliers and a vice. This thin aluminum bends quite easily. To get it to conform, I used a 3" fiberglass tube to get the shape close then minor adjustments with the tools above. W

    Level 3 Build Frenzy 4" (+1 other 75mm rocket)

Well, Unfortunately, I haven't kept up with the picture-taking. I'm going to attempting my L3 this weekend at Bayboro, NC on an M1297 now. I did take some video of the ejection charge test. https://youtu.be/_nARNffvACk W

    Hawaii anyone?

Thinking about going to Hawaii with the wife and kid (9 yo daughter). Wondering if anyone has any experience going in the April/May timeframe. We've never been and trying to figure out if this is a good time and what the best things to squeeze in might be. Most friends have suggested hit at...

    Stratologger SL100 and switch

Buckeye: thanks for the advice. I couldn't wait and ended up wiring to the switch terminals. I agree with you that it would have been cleaner, but couldn't resist following the directions :) W

    Level 3 Build Frenzy 4" (+1 other 75mm rocket)

Kevin, You are correct, these slide in and align to the vent holes on the switch band. THis serves the purpose of the vent holes as well at making the switches accessible with a screw driver. In previous builds, I placed the switches on the outside. I wanted to try this due to some...

Forgot to note these: 1) Internal fillets -epoxy 2) Nose cone - added 5 oz of lead shot to the epoxy. 3) AV Bay wiring

    Level 3 Build Frenzy 4" (+1 other 75mm rocket)

It's 1/2 tubular with a tight weave. I believe I purchased this from someone on e-Bay -or- from giant leap rocketry -or- from rocketry warehouse. I've had it for a while so I apologize for not being exactly sure where it came from. W

    Level 3 Build Frenzy 4" (+1 other 75mm rocket)

Well, I'm finally getting around to getting these rockets finished. Here is a shot of the av-bay sled. In case you are wondering, the switches will be inside and accessed through holes in the switch band.

    Stratologger SL100 and switch

I'm wiring up a couple of stratologgers sl100 for my L3 rocket and in the process noticed that out of the box, the SL100s have a shunt installed on the switch terminals. So, I wondering if I should: a) Remove the shunt and wire my switch to the correct switch terminals, or b) use the...

    Finally Launched Some AP

This is the lawn dart that BB speaks of....it's mine. The first pic is from my wife at a distance so it's cropped. This is a Formula75. This is hole that contains the nose cone and about 5" of the body. The threaded rod I used in the nose cone was bent in half. I was able to salvage the...
