    24mm motor tube/aluminum foil roll

The cardboard tube in the Kroger brand(home sense) aluminum foil is a perfect fit for Estes 24mm diameter engines. I tend to save sturdy rolls from products such as foil, thinking that I'm eventually use them in a rocketry project.

    Plugging Estes Booster Engines?

Is it against one of the rocketry rules to plug a booster(ex. with epoxy) for certain applications where you want to limit exposure to the heat of the BP burning through? I know that one is not supposed to modify an engine, but was wondering if this counted? Thanks, Darian Rachal

    Transferring Slides To A DVD?

I have a number of 30+ year old slides; most of them were taken using Kodachrome 25. Has anyone had any experience with a good company that can transfer the images to a DVD? I checked at Walgreen this morning and the price was about 50 cents per slide, which I do not mind paying if I have no...

    Goggle Chrome Question

When I open my Goggle Chrome browser, it goes to the page showing the 8 small windows that I can click on for 8 different sites. One of these windows in now blank and I have no idea how to put a site on it, nor do I know how to change the other windows to preferable sites. I'm not even sure how...

Excellent buy on 4" refractor optical tube assemblies

These seem to be some very good scopes for the price. :surprised: Of course you have to supply your own mount, but a simple mount can be acquired for a reasonable price. https://www.optcorp.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=ce-102&order=relevance&dir=desc

Estes Pro Series Motors at Hobby Lobby

This may be very old news because it has been quite awhile since I was in Hobby Lobby, but I noticed they are selling the Pro Series motors E, F, and G. I haven't checked the prices on these from various sources on-line, but I thought that with a 40% off coupon the prices might be reasonable...

    Sport Rocketry magazine

I was browsing the magazine section in Hastings(book/music/DVD store) and noticed they carry Sport Rocketry magazine. This was in Alexandria LA. It was in the section with model airplanes, cars, etc.. Not a bad magazine for $5.00.

    R/C Car Kit Recommendation?

I know some of you have probably put together R/C car kits, so I thought I'd ask for a recommendation for a first kit. Tamiya has been recommended as having good parts and clear instructions, but I'm sure other companies produce some relatively simple kits, as well. I am looking for something...

    Hobby Lobby Clearance Aisle

Dropped in the HL(Alexandria LA) this morning to browse around. In clearance they had an E powered Estes Interceptor for <$20.00 and a few other nice bargains on several other rockets(one was E powered). I have an Interceptor E that's been in storage for more than a year and only partially...

    Good Buys at Michaels

I rarely go into Michaels, but just out of curiousity I dropped in to see if they still had rockets. This is the Alexandria LA store. They had about 4 pkg. of D12-5 marked down to $5.00 each. The C11-? were marked down to $3.00 and the other 18mm variety were marked down as well, but the prices...

    Firefox Question

Somebody messed with my computer today. I had my Firefox browser set where the "Speed Dial" (not sure about name) would come up when I opened the browser. Basically, it was a page showing 9 different sites that I could click on to open the site. Anyway, now Firefox just opens to Yahoo and I...

    Computer(Outlook Express) Question

Every week or so, when I close OE I get a message(exclamation mark in triangle) that says "To freeup disk space, OE can compact messages. This may take up to a few minutes". During the process of compacting deleted messages it stops and a 'X' appears, with the message "the folder is currently...

    Simple Computer Question

How do you add something such as Internet Explorer to the Quick Launch area at the bottom of the screen. I know this is simple, but for some reason I can not figure out how to do it. The icon is on my Desk Top. It was in the Quick Launch area but somehow I removed it and can't get it back.:o...

    Inexpensive R/C Car Batteries?

I know that some of you fellows are R/C car enthusiasts. Where are some of the places you go to get good prices on 7.2v or 8.4v NiMH batteries and reasonable rates for shipping? Thanks for any suggestions.

    Computer "Stand By" mode?

In the past I had my computer set to where the hard drive and monitor would turn off after about 30 minutes. If I wanted to return to the computer I would simply move the mouse and they would come back on. Lately, I've been using the "Stand By" setting where the computer goes into a 'low...

    4" tubes at Kinkos

This may be common knowledge, but I was at Kinkos the other day and saw some Scotch brand 4" mailing tubes, 4' long. They looked like they'd make great rockets and were very reasonably priced. Is it just a matter of having to get custom nose cones that keep these from being used more often? Or...

    1/4" masking tape?

Seems like I remember a thread recently pertaining to tape, but I couldn't find it. What is an inexpensive source for 1/4" masking tape? I used to get it at WalMart as 'quilting tape', but recently have been unable to find it. I found some at HL, but would not have bought it without the 40% off...

Good Deal on Interceptor at Hobby Lobby

I went into HL this morning to pick up a pack of E9s with the 40% off coupon. Lo and Behold, I saw the Estes Intercepter E power with a sticker for $17.49. I'll let you do the math on what the 40% off was.:surprised: I could not in good conscience just go up there and buy it, knowing that it was...
