What did you do rocket wise today?

2nd day of epoxy for internal fillets. Madcow 2 1/2" fiberglass Nike Smoke. Yesterday, it was sketchy. It was ship in the bottle stuff glueing with honey, what a mess! I found a syringe from another model kit. It was hard to get the goo in the syringe, but it was workable. It got a couple...

C'mon admit it. You bought yourself a gift, didn't you?

We quit buying presents for each other years ago. I broke the rule this year under the auspices that the gift was for both of us. High-end spices (not the illegal kind). Both of us are pleased.

Personal Launch Report -- Tampa Bay Rocket Association Dec. 23 2023

Strongest wind that I have experienced at this location. Even using a JLCR, I walked over 2 1/2 miles. Launched 4, 3 recovered. First was the "Bumblebee" - long 3" BMS School Rocket pictured. Used G53-6FJ (drilled). Nominal flight. Altimeter indicated 1330'. Love the black smoke. I tested...

What did you do rocket wise today?

I decided to try and take care of the nose cone rattle today. Part of the bb/epoxy NC weight mass had broken away from the main part. Nothing like the present right? Just drill a hole and spray some foam insulation. Easy-Peasy. My experience with foam insulation so far is there's some open...

    Is white filler-primer a thing?

I use Kilz and like it. Better primer than Ace 2X pimer. The downside from good coverage is that it doesn't go far; so it's a bit pricey.

Food may be organic, or organic-certified. Not always the same.

To add to the uncertainty, federal inspection for organic certification is understaffed (surprise, surprise). Allowing more room fraud and abuse. Sometimes States have more stringent criteria then Federal and are better staffed for organic certification and inspection. Know your farmer. Let...

Hobby Knife Set Score at Thrift Shop

These days the handles alone are worth a lot more than $3. Last time I bought Exacto blades, I paid $11 for 100. The package is about 1/2 gone.
