New Build - Falcon 9 Crew Dragon - 56mm Tube

2nd launch the wind picked up some and the rocket weathercocked a good bit but, all three cutes opened and I was happy the way the booster came down. Just as planned.

Finally was able to take a decent video. 2nd chute on the booster did not open on the first launch.

Sold Quest SHX Stiletto - Snarky - Estes Conquest - 90 + shipping

Anyone know how much one of these is worth right now? I understand they have been discontinued for a bit. Trying to thin out my non-scale builds. I have this one, a Snarky and an Estes Conquest. I'd like to unload to someone that wants them. Thanks in advance

What I did today -instead- of Rocketry.

Have had to put the rockets on the back burner for a bit working on Christmas presents so I don't have to rush.

New Build - Project Echo - Shotput I Launch Vehicle

I was able to fix it by cutting in a new tube. Hard to get the edge straight as far down as it was bent, but I'm satisfied.

    Launch Pad Question

Yep. My blast shield is wooden and I learned that lesson the hard way years ago when I wrapped it in foil.

    Launch Pad Question

Thank you all. Great suggestions that I can put to good use.

    Launch Pad Question

What are people using to elevate their rockets a bit so they don't sit directly on the shield?

New Build - Project Echo - Shotput I Launch Vehicle

I had a 'minor' parachute malfunction. Such a drag. The nose cone came down separately in great shape. I guess there was not enough oomph in the ejection charge to push out the cone with the 18" chute along with 2x15" chutes for the booster. Sent up on an Estes D12-3 and the ejection was at...

Mercury Redstone - 1/72 Boyce Aerospace

Finished the Boyce Aerospace 1/72 Mercury Redstone. Needed to add 2.4 oz of lead to the nose to get the CG where it was supposed to be. Total weight 14.6 oz with an Estes E9-4. Thanks Alex!

New Build - Project Echo - Shotput I Launch Vehicle

Thanks for the additional information. Those resources will come in handy. If it weren't from ROTW, I wouldn't have been so intrigued to build this one.

    To the rescue. Thank you.

What did you do rocket wise today?

Continued work on the Boyce 1/72 Mercury Redstone. As Mugs914, I have a bit of filling and sanding to do. Shame I did not get the escape tower straight on the capsule... Might fly it without the tower, but that just seems to defeat the purpose. Right? I just don't see how the tower won't get...

What did you do rocket wise today?

Those are so cool. I dig the Bomarc and great idea for pre color on the S1B... I'll use that. Thank you!
