What's your most expedient, rat rocket you've ever made,

I used to glue fins and nose cones to 13mm engines and launch out of a paper towel tube “silo” in my sandbox. That count?

Is “freebag” deployment allowed for L1/2 cert flights?

“Free bag?” I don’t think they care what you wear. 😂

Heli-Bomber--- RSO-Proof? Optional Bombs Away! (or not) You Choose!

Nice. I wonder if Rocket Dog hears a high-frequency whine from the launch electronics.

Post a pic that makes you LOL

My family never had a “clicker” remote. Our first was a 9v powered infrared remote for cable boxes. The best thing about those was that they worked on anyone’s tv. We’d often ride around the neighborhood on our bikes changing people’s channels through front windows. 😀

    Ruskies popping flares

Say what you want about their politics but Russians do know how to celebrate.

Coronavirus: What questions do you have?

I am increasingly frustrated. The fear surrounding Covid-19 affects my income directly even if I’M not afraid. Shut down orders and similar also affect me. I can blame partisan politics in the US but this seems to be worldwide. I check BBC, NHK, and der Spiegal regularly. Why are equally...

What is driving the anti-science complicity among the US population, and online?

I maintain that Idiocracy is a documentary.

What is driving the anti-science complicity among the US population, and online?

    1. Yes...-ish. Our education standards have dropped for various reasons. Rewriting history and changing what is taught for political reasons also contributes to people not trusting what they’re taught, including science. 2. Yes. Absolutes are not politically correct. So allowing “alternative”...

    Lost another Rocket

I live in Michigan. It was launched from a park less than a mile from the Detroit river. Canada is on the other side. I was surprised to get it back after it drifted out of sight. Never saw the second stage but recovered the first booster.

    Lost another Rocket

What’s especially fun is launching a Comanche on all Cs with your address written on the parachute... ...then getting it in the mail four weeks later with international postage. 😉

    Neil_W's half-baked design thread

Still need the expanded front section in my opinion. Four might work, if they’re spaced in pairs instead of evenly. Think an x-wing.

Queensland ute driver going 100kph uses knife to battle brown snake trying to bite him between his legs

I downloaded the female Aussie voice for Siri. That’s about as close as I want to get.

Queensland ute driver going 100kph uses knife to battle brown snake trying to bite him between his legs

These stories are why I put up with the freezing winters here in Michigan.

    Neil_W's half-baked design thread

Multiple body tubes ala Sidekick? Say two on each side of the long skinny about half the length. Seems like I’ve seen something similar. Just trying to spark a muse. Whatever you come up with will be cool.

    Neil_W's half-baked design thread

Assume the previous Plasma Darts were small craft; create the Plasma Cruiser or mothership.

What a propeller driven "rocket" might look like.

Well, call it a “propeller-driven model of a rocket.” Still semantically a “model rocket.” What went through my head was a propeller launch, then an air start rocket. Though you could reverse that also.

    Helicopter recovery with lego

One of my students is both a rocket and LEGO enthusiast. He’s going to love this.
