    Soccer Field Build Thread

Hey there! I'm resurrecting this thread and blowing off the cobwebs and softball-sized dust bunnies, to say that this most Odd Rocket has flown again! Following Daddyisabar's advice, I chose to fly this thing on a full-blown H135 Pro-SU motor. I plugged the delay charge, because who the...

Here, have some GoPro onboard footage.

Yep, Mister Jebediah seemed to have quite a bit of fun strapped into the rocket's nose cone. Fortunately enough, his stupidity... er... courageousness didn't result in any wonky boosts as he tried out the little buttons and levers. As a matter of fact, Jeb was put in there as a counterweight to...

    NARAM 56 Photos

I was scrolling through these images, when all of a sudden: Hey, that's my ProGo rocket right there, with its GoPro camera and everything! Thanks for snapping some pictures of it as it went up. You may wonder how the video turned out... https://youtu.be/oLj6hcMroNI Nice...

Here, have some GoPro onboard footage.

Hi-diddly-ho, neighborinos! Over the last several months, I've been flying a GoPro on a MadCow Cowabunga. Essentially, I cut a length of 4" tubing, stuck a coupler and a bulkhead in the bottom, and attached a GoPro mount to the bulkhead. Some sheet metal was used to streamline airflow around...

    Mega Tapeworm Fun

 The Mega Tapeworm isn't going to be sucking anything out of anyone's intestines again. One of the igniters (the new Estes ones, I should note. Stupid hide glue!) was a little reluctant to set its F15 alight. The rocket angled its way off the launch rod, flew sideways a bit, and then...

    Simple finless rocket in flight

I admire the stability of these rockets, and I want to build something like this some time (oversized bottle optional)... https://youtu.be/O4u9s74goG0 ...although I am a bit worried that the RSO won't allow anything non-conventional out of me after my soccer field rocket experiments.

    The HyPr Two Build Thread!

This is going to be fun. So, for this thread, I'm building a mini high-powered rocket, using the lessons I learned from the last one. Quick story refresher: I launched ...this on an F26. I was going to fly it on something bigger, later, but it just disappeared on its first flight...

    Soccer Field Build Thread

GLORY and VICTORY! ...it worked. With a G76 Mojave Green. And it flew straight. And it came back down safely. ... Champagne time! Here is a picture of it launching... ...and descending... The parachute didn't open, but the entire rocket is built like a...

    Propeller-Stabilized Rocket!

It has been flown! The rocket was launched on a B6-0. It went fairly straight on the way up, although it did tip to the side as the propellers began to spin. The boost showed signs of serious drag, with the rocket slowing down immediately after boost was complete. The rocket vented its ejection...

    Mile High Attempt

Here's a thread where I attempted to 'Enter the Mile-High Club for Cheap!' with a minimum-diameter H (even a high-impulse G may have done the trick, but I didn't want to take any chances.) The rocket was lost on the first flight but some of the comments were insightful and gave a good sense of...

    Propeller-Stabilized Rocket!

Wow! This idea attracted a surprising amount of attention! Time to give a quick description of the craft so far (it's coming together in my basement): Because of the rotor-induced drag, I've decided to make the airframe rather streamlined. I'm just using a standard 29mm body tube for the...

    Propeller-Stabilized Rocket!

So, apparently, many rockets use these jutting-out-bits, made out of some sort of wood or plastic. These bits are placed near the bottom of the rocket, and they make the rocket fly straighter. And get this: They're called 'fins'. Who knew? You know, there are only a few types of fins out...

    Any Fellow Kerbonauts?

KSP is one of the best games I ever played (see my signature). I actually have a YouTube channel containing plenty of KSP adventures. Plenty of unusual designs, all stock parts. https://www.youtube.com/user/BagelRabbit I feel that installing mods, particularly those that make the game...

GoPro Mounted on a Rocket! [VIDEO]

Thanks for all of the positive comments... I'll try to answer your questions as best I can. Here's a picture of the rocket. The unpainted brown bit is a Madcow Cowabunga that we already had built. The GoPro section is the white bit, and you can see the large hole cut in the tube, which was...

GoPro Mounted on a Rocket! [VIDEO]

So, I have decided that "pathetic" HD flashlight/keychain cameras won't cut it... and thus, well, a GoPro on a high-powered rocket! oxFryiaVKbM This is a somewhat modified Madcow Cowabunga, with the GoPro mostly inside the rocket and in an upper section. The craft flew on an H123W to about...

    Multiple Spill Holes in Parachute?

Hello all, I was just wondering if anyone had tried adding two or more spill holes to a parachute. Would multiple, evenly spaced spill holes have more of a stabilizing effect than a single spill hole? Or, really, would multiple spill holes be good for anything? Just wondering :)

never flown to L1 in one step?

I would agree with many people on this thread that it would be alright to certify Level 1 without prior *flying* experience. However, I think that if you are planning to certify L1, you should probably examine a few proper L1 rockets, have a qualified mentor, and have a RSO who checks the rocket...

    Huge L1 Rocket...

There's a chance of it... I may dissect the motor later to see what happened. Also, any explanation for the sparks?

    Huge L1 Rocket...

Just a clarification. As viewed in the little video screen, the 'line of flame' fluctuations weren't quite so clear, so I took some screenshots off of my movie editing program... In the first image, the flame looks pretty normal. However, in the second image, a second flame had developed to...
