Was a rare windless day here on the shores of lake Michigan, so I put down the rake and went to the park to fly some micros. First flight was the Quest Spacefighter, which had a great boost but decided to imitate a lawn jart on landing. Next up was the Space Shuttle, which wiggled its way up to a nice height of 40 feet or so. The SR-71 had a great flight, and for the first time in 10 years decided to deploy the streamer. Finally, I flew a Flis crayon. I bought/built this kit in 2006 or 2007 and a convention here in WI, but I had never flown it for some strange reason. I loaded it up and pushed the button, and the thing screamed off the pad to a height where I was lucky to catch the ejection charge. I then lost the rocket, and thought to myself why on earth had I picked the green crayon? After searching the field for about 20 minutes, I spotted the fin unit, but the Kevlar shock cord had snapped. My heart sank a little as I realized my odds of recovery were next to nothing, but the rocket gods were smiling on me and I managed to locate my crayon.

If you fly MMX and don't have this kit, grab one! It flies great and really is amusing to see on the pad. Just buy the red one ;)

Yeah, that green one sure looks cool, but you want to watch where you fly it... LOL When we use up our current stock of green and red we're going to change colors for a while, just to mix it up a bit :)

I had the same thing happen with my green crayon, should have purchased the RED one. I did manage to find the fin unit, gotta figure out what to build around it.

Or you could always do what I did.... build yourself a box of 8 basic color crayons. Now ya just pick & fly the best contrasting color to the field conditions LOL!!!! I tried to match the Streamer with the body color also as an extra recovery help,
The Layouts for the 8 crayon wraps and box are in the files section of the MicroMaxRockets yahoo group. in the Odd-Roc folder.

Another point I should make is that we offer downloads of other colors, if you want to mix it up a bit... :)

If you go to the Crayon Details Page you will find links to the following colors: Black, Blue, Magenta, Orange, Periwinkle, Violet, & Yellow. :)

Best is to print them out on the appropriate color construction paper (cut it to fit your printer) and you're all set! If you print on an ink-jet printer, be sure to hit it with flat-clear to set the ink as they will run when wet if you don't
