I'll tell you what I didn't do.....I didn't change my clocks at all. Huge that's to you Arizona!

Revived my Hot Springs Jacuzzi. Came home from last weekends launch and the hot tub was at 93*:(. Went online and found a troubleshooting guide which lead me to a circuit board that had lost it's magic smoke, evidenced by some residue next to the relay that controls the heater. Amazon.com to the rescue with the upgraded replacement part delivered yesterday, installed last night and hot water this morning for our first hot soak this week!

Worked on removing a transmission from a car to change the rear engine seal. Been chasing an oil leak the past few days and pretty much cleaned up engine and already changed any seal that could potentially be the culprit. Also put in new timing belt and water pump as records of last change were unknown.

Color of the leaking oil?

Drove to Monte Vista CO to see the Sandhill Cranes. Pretty cool.

Hopefully it is the rear engine seal. I had a tranny overhaul done and the motor oil leaked. Took it to the dealer, they said it's coming from the rear seal. Told the tranny shop. At first they denied it was a bum job. Later they fixed it at no cost at my insistence.
If you can get the vehicle on a lift maybe you can pinpoint the source.

Problem was it's been slow leaking whilst driving for some time now and the leaked oil sort of migrated along seams and crevices every which way and also started "caking" with outside dust/dirt. Basically, it was hard to specifically pinpoint the source and combined with mileage and not knowing maintenance history, decided to just change out many of the seals and gaskets - cam seals and end caps, front/rear engine seal, distributor o-ring, oil pan gasket. Since everything is nice and clean now, I'm thinking to run UV dye in the oil just in case there's still something leaking after all this work.

I've always found wrenching on cars to be therapeutic, this time no exception and welcome even.

Held orientation for the hires from earlier in the week. Expecting 4, had two show up on time and one arrive 30 minutes late and leave ten minutes later.

Pretty major work! Excellent job to do that yourself. That seal is a bear.

Getting a bit tight for floor space in my workshop so I took a shopvac that had been annoying me for a while and flicked it under the linisher that it normally attends. Wired to run at the same time. Workshop more useable in a few ways :).

Continued the Pi Day celebration by making a quiche for breakfast. Last night my friend made two pies that we rought to the MARS build session this morning.

I needed to take the base off of my PC monitor so I watched a YouTube video on how to do it and actually ended up removing it successfully and putting the framework back together on the monitor, so now I can mount it up on my shelf and tie it to the wire shelving up on top so that I can have 3 monitors across my shelf.

Worked to get leaves off the bottom of the pool, fun times.

This has been my sanding set up for years but my sander is a bit smaller/less industrial sized.

Sander is mounted on a wheeled steel stand with plywood base between the legs where the shop vac sits. Both are connected to a short multi-tap adapter. Move the stand where I want it, plug in the single plug and let the sanding begin!

Great minds think alike.

My niece asked me to teach her how to drive a manual stick shift car, so I gave her lessons in both my Tacoma and Miata. She picked it up well (and clutch/transmissions survived, lol), but more practice/repetition is needed.
