Anyone know the background on how the Estes Partizon got its name?

I tried him first and he said he couldn't remember.

1. Partizan - an ardent and enthusiastic supporter of some person or activity
enthusiast, partisan addict, freak, junkie, junky,
nut - someone who is so ardently devoted to something that it resembles an addiction; "a golf addict"; "a car nut"; "a bodybuilding freak"; "a news junkie"

2. Partizan - a pike with a long tapering double-edged blade with lateral projections; 16th and 17th centuries

3. Partizan - devoted to a cause or party

But it's spelled with an O --- Partizon, not Partizan.

I think it's a shortened version of "Party Zone," as in, "Welcome to the Party Zone! We're gonna party our faces off! Woo-hoo!"

It's the "o" in Partizon that makes it unique when it comes to the name and it's definition or provenance.

I figure it's like car names and paint/crayon colors, sit around too many fumes then make up words. The ones that sound the most normal get used.

#2 makes sense...

Yea I thought of the medieval weapon when I first saw the name.

Here's my take on #9700 to #9703

Leviathan - large beast - obvious as its 3" wider than the rest.

Ventris - female sounding because of its hourglass curves

Argent - military looking so its a sArgent.

I figured that the original color scheme for the Argent was more silver (argent is an old english word for silver/silvery/etc.) but ended up in one of the alternate schemes for the face card.

You mean I got the colors right ?? - lol ( not sure why it came out sideways- sorry . )

If you were trying to match mine, no- you used green where you should have used orange.

I don't know if there is a "wrong" color scheme on a rocket. Of course, I'm the guy who has a Bullpup 12D painted in a white-gray-purple-pink camo color scheme.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but...

Maybe John was just having one of those days and had a lot of trouble building the prototype. In the end he exclaimed; "Finally, the last 'Partizon' "

Lol! Have you been working on that one for the last 4 years?

Was the launch scrubbed today? No, the PartizOn! Party's On???

Partizon, Wayne. Partizon, Garth. Partizon, Dudes, Bill & Ted.

No? Maybe too much of a stretch. Still, it's a most excellent rocket.

My Partizon crashed more than once, and each time I just shortened it a bit. So mine is now called the Shortizon.

It’s now maybe half the length of the original, and I have some weight in the nose. It flies better than before, and the chute always ejects from the body tube now. Perfected after 3 crashes.

Which way to the Party Zone?

When I moved to China I found that the model rocketry hobby was pretty pathetic here, despite China having invented the rocket. Bobby Hamill was kind enough to send me a Partizon. However, China Post, being China Post, did what it does best. It damaged what was sent. One of the body tubes was seriously crushed. I built what was left of it. I named that rocket PartOfAZon. Later, I was able to replace the body tube segment, but I can't find anything to fill the spirals, or prime it. It's sat in the same condition since then.

Some of the most funny things in life are what you forget that then gets brought back to life in a new or refreshed form. This is one of them. With no conclusive answer, I have continued to search for answers. Now, a whole new wave of wiseacres are resurrecting this thread and adding to the lore. Keep it coming
