Its a D-motor payload rocket, that's able to carry a camera, altimeter, and like 20 grams of extra weight. what do you guys think? i'm still messing around with it.

Not a bad looking design. Reminds me somewhat of the Harpoon missile (except it's missing the forward fins, and the 3 rear ones are a bit flat for the scale missile look).

Your motor will need some retention, and should protrude out the back of the motor tube. If you want it to be a tail sitter, you'll need to push the motor tube up inside the body tube a little if you add an Engine hook. Also, 3mm balsa may be hard to find in the US, but I'm sure it can be found. I'd recommend that if you're in the US, you swap it out for 1/8" balsa.

Yeah I forgot about the motor mount stuff. 3 mm is 1/8 inch I believe. Do know of any good cameras for model rockets? All those keychain ones have bad reviews, and i'm in canada so that's even harder.

If you can score one, the Cineroc is pretty highly rated... However, I'm having my own difficulties with finding newer ones... I'm in the People's Republic of China (and my skills in reading Chinese are quite limited).

Scan the Chinese to computer and use google translate would be a good option ?

No, not really. You see, not every word in English, or any language, has a direct translation into another, especially when we're talking about the differences between something in the Indo-European language family into the Sino-Tibetan language family.

if you want to carry all that internally then bt70 payload section is probably your best bet(use a bt60 to bt70, and a 3/16" launch lug w/ standoff). if internal mount isn't required(or wanted)then bt-60 is a good choice. I've used my payload 'bertha' to carry a 4 oz. to over 1k. feet. note; standard motor overhang is 0.25"(or 5mm).

3.175 mm. Not important really, but if you want the OR model be representative of the physical parts, and if Balsa is sold with imperial thicknesses up there, then you might as well get it right, so put in the 1/8". If balsa is sold by millimeters, then ignore this post. (Maybe I should make the two hour drive over the border and check.)
