Alright so I just purchased my Loki 75/8000 case and was in my schools composites lab rolling a fin can for my L3 project. I turned around to grab a pair of scissors and upon turning back my case was rolling off the table with a 3' drop to solid concrete floor. Upon inspection the forward closure end of the case is slightly bent in. It appears that it doesn't extend past the snap ring groove further into the case which is good. It is bent slightly enough to not allow the forward closure to fit due to the spot that must have initially impacted the floor. I've attached pictures below of the damage i'm talking about. What is the best course of action to fix this? Is it safely fixable? I know I can cut the case down to another size however I cant really afford to purchase another case being a poor college student. My entire senior design project depends on this lol.

Thanks,

Connor

Note: The snap ring still fully seats into its groove.

Get a piece of round stock wood that fits inside the case. With the wood sticking out the bent end apply a good whack to the wood to try to push out the bent area. May take several whacks (very scientific term...). Good luck.

Easy fix, I have literally done dozens like it, for myself and others.
Just some care with the wacks and it will be as goos as new. Last year had a 75 6grain CTI fall over standing upright , dented edge just like yours.
Now ya can't even tell it happened.
Oak dowel from any big box store is the magic ticket, only couple bucks. Then re-use it to push out liners after flight!

At least 1inch for 38 & 54, preferably larger up to 2in. for 75/98mm.
I have used iron/galvanized pipe wrapped with electrical tape so it would not mar.

Hardwood shovel handle [replacement] or on shovel also works.Anything hardwood round...think outside the box. Look around your tools.

Note to me: buy some bats and cut them at the right diameter.

I've got a related case repair question. I received a Pro54 6 grain case with a ding on it. Contacted the vendor and enclosed some pix. They submitted to CTI and I'm waiting for a reply for a couple of months.
Do you think I can use a dowel or something similar to burnish the dent out from inside the case? Would it be safe to use our amIMG_20191226_151036.jpg IMG_20191226_151000.jpg I risking a CATO by trying to smooth it out?
