Anybody know who bought the company? It appears to have been purchased and disappeared.

Did they actually get purchased or did they just disappear? If I recall the owner got involved with race cars, got behind on money, and just kinda dropped the rocketry stuff leaving people with no products after paying for them

Hit & skip...no one was silly enough to buy a debt. There was an attempt to get the rights to a couple of designs, don't know the outcome of that.
Whole thing was a shame, Scott had some really neat designs, you got a couple of them idk't you Chuck? Ever build 'em?

I do have several. I have two and a parachute I really wanted that was never delivered.

Really love my Arctic Wolf. Just wish i'd gotten the other one I paid for. I will shamelessly rip off the av-bay design all day.

The rights to the kits and AV bays were purchased.

The company, company name, and anything associated with the company (e.g., debt, obligations, etc.) was not purchased.

Why have they not produced any of the products?

I have made some of their AV designs on my Cravewright CNC.

What was different about there Avbay design?

For the time, it was all inclusive/revolutionary.
Laser cut wood parts you just glued together, fit over the tie rods, had elevated position for switch and battery box.Came with everything needed to make a first rate sled/bay.

Since then, there are many printed solutions as good or better.

I'm not at liberty to answer this question. However, if there is enough interest in a particular kit(s), I can get the info to the right person.

Just be careful with the Arctic Wolf. I have one and the av bay bulkheads shattered on its fourth flight. The plywood is thinner than the bulkheads on my Loc Iris. The body tubes are also less robust. When I rebuilt the av bay I used the same thickness as the Loc.

The body tubing in the kits I bought were LOC. I fibglassed the bulkheads.

I still have a few brand new av-bay kits unbuilt if anyone wants to make templates to reproduce. I too, am on the list of people ripped off.

I have often wanted to convert mine to cad files. I may have to try it.

I got an Orion Starfighter and Torellian Invader from him and was very happy. Ordered a 4” Colonial Viper and he closed up and skipped with my money. Never heard a peep. Very unhappy and a sore spot years later.
