Starting early on some pretty large projects for LDRS next year. I haven’t been to Argonia for 20 years so there is some excitement in having that large of a field and waiver available.
I don’t know about waiting over a year so one or two of these may also end up at Red Glare for a first flight.

I have had some ask about build threads for the 12” diameter Bertha I flew this year so I was going to use this thread for this years projects and for anyone else whom wants to participate.IMG_2749.jpg

First up will be my 12” diameter upscale of Quest’s Quad Runner kit7A007A39-038B-43D0-96D9-AF74C8935B55.jpg
Has 4x98mm motor mounts.

Second will be a 12” diameter Aerobee 150 with 3 x 98mm mounts. Plans are to fly with 3x Aerotech N2220 Dark Matter motors.

Let’s get to work.

Assembled my main bulkhead. The G12 couplers are much tighter in these larger tubes so some sanding is required. I like to use 1x2s in my larger assemblies and then 6’ tow straps for my shock cord attachment. IMG_3261.jpgIMG_3262.jpg

Beautiful build. Great workshop!

What material is used for the fins, and what method/adhesive do you use to bond aluminum CRs to FWFG tube?

Haven’t posted in some time (some have made it to Facebook) but allot of progress is being made on various projects.
Have done much work on the 6” O motor with successful static fires IMG_3605.jpg
But now we need something to fly it in:

A 12” diameter Estes Citation Patriot.

Also the 12” diameter Aerobee 150 is coming along for 3 x Aerotech N motors

The Aerobee is looking great! Being a fan of the type, and having just scratch built a 4” Aerobee 150 myself, I’d love to see more photos of the build if you have any!

I saw the thread here ( if that was yours) and it came out fantastic.

I can gather some pics, I have less than usual for these builds but have some and will take additional
