The booster straps pretty much assembled themselves with the help of some saran wrap and CA.
I was successful in not supergluing any fingers to the straps.

The core and vostok assemblies are ready for primer. The boosters have given me a little
trouble. Will post update later today.

Wanted to avoid fillets on the booster fins so I used some leftover balsa to make a small
interior fin tab.

The boosters were definitely the most difficult part of this kit.I still have a little bit of fiddling before masking them for
primer and paint.

Last few days have mostly been spent test fitting boosters to core and making little adjustments.
I cut a 3/8 strip from the booster seam and fitted a strip of balsa to remove the "point" of the seam
so booster would lay flat on core. Applied a 50/50 mix of water/wood glue to the booster and core
shrouds so the paint would not distort the paper. The mixture soaked into the paper well and only
required small amount of sanding with 320 grit

Try cutting a hole in the parachute
maybe 3"diameter, it does work or
buck shot and ( or ) bluetack:thumbup:

Very sorry i thought you were having problems with you're Vostok coming down too fast and
having cone damage, sorry also

No worries, I was with you on the spill hole, but lost on the buckshot. Here she is wearing semi-gloss.

Looks great, love to see it when it's
not naked, what engine ( s ) are you going to use?.:)

Looking into ordering a couple of AT h242t and h250g in anticipation of nov launch

Final weight with chutes is 3 lbs 9 oz.
I finished with a couple coats of semi gloss and a thin coat of matte clear.

There are no antennas because I made a mess of the wire bending and am
too embarrassed to post the pics. They look like a Rottweiler chewed on some
paperclips.

Not planning to fly electronics initially, but I added screw eyes to each of the
booster cones to possibly hang a small altimeter in the future.

The decals are the wrong orientation for the 1967 paris air show paint scheme
so I am going to order or cut the individual letters and try to get them on straight.

Have some plans to make a cardboard box for transporting so it does not get
dinged up rolling around in my trunk.

Thanks to those who posted suggestions and comments along the way.

I highly recommend. Super fun to build and you are not going to see one at every launch.

Went through about 3 feet of wire before getting results on the antennae that I could live with.
Never would have thought going in that the wire bending would be the step that gave me the most
difficulty. Here she is ready to fly.

Looks amazing. Need pictures for my website. Close ups of details please.

Sure thing, although the close ups might make it a little less amazing. :D. Very least, I'll get some shots with a less domestic
looking backdrop.

Looks absolute brilliant, that's an eye opener no matter where
you go congrat's on a job well done, NOW GO AND LAUNCH IT!!.

Great job! I love unique projects and this has turned out awesome.

The boosters kind of look like bellbottoms and the era is about right. Here is the Groovy Vostok.

Drilled the 10 sec delay on the H250G 3/16" to match the length of the "-S" 6 second delay
and ejection was just past apogee. I was worried about the booster finlets, but everything
recovered without any damage.
