Painting is going to be difficult for me during the winter (not impossible necessarily, but difficult). Therefore I'm looking for some good ideas for builds where most or all construction can be completed before a can is rattled. Normally I like to prime before assembly, although I guess I could try priming afterwards, since some definitely do it that way.

Now that I'm reading what I just wrote, it sounds kinda stupid, because I really ought to be able to figure out a way to just do some priming even during winter. Nonetheless, kits that can be done completely indoors could be a plus.

So far I'm thinking Quinstar (whenever it becomes available) and Odd'l Cyclone, but that's all I have at the moment.

I'm in the same situation, i'm in the great white north. The concern i had was since spray paint comes out in such a fine mist, would the paint actually freeze up in the air or even get too cold to stick properly, or get cracks, crackling, etc. I guess you would need REALLY cold air for that to happen, like 20 below zero or less. I started a thread about this, one of many i later discovered which obviously shows a lot of members here have the same concerns. There are plenty of mild sunny days here during Canadian winters, so no biggie i learned NOT to rush things, especially painting. Spray painting indoors IS DEFINITELY out of the question for me, over spray goes EVERY WHERE AND EVEN IF YOU DON'T SEE IT, run your finger along anything around where you painted and you WILL pick up color. No biggie, if you don't succeed the 1st time, sand and paint again, THAT I HATE TO DO, that's why i like to educate myself on how paint behaves. A good source of info on that would be a BODY SHOP guy who also paints cars.

You can buy very inexpensive airbrushes and fairly cheap compressors these days from a lot of places. An airbrush is totally usable inside to paint rockets without getting splatter everywhere beyond a much smaller concentrated area than rattle paint cans.
