I saw this Thunderbird over the weekend trying (a bit unsuccessfully) to emulate the Barris version:


I always thought that car was neat, being built from a Lincoln show car to begin with. But I most clearly remember Micheal Keaton's Batmobile from the Tim Burton movie as my favorite. The Tumbler is cool, but a bit silly from the point of view of an automotive engineer, dynamically speaking. But this new Ben-Mobile seems to want to make a sillier Tumbler yet...

That's stupid.
Why would Batman fight Superman?
Batman is mortal. Superman could just grab him and rip him in half or fly him up into space and leave him there frozen and dead.

I want one simple thing from a Batmobile: Mach diamonds in the jet exhaust. Is that too much to ask?

You can't outright deny their existence, and the seem to be pretty good at flyin'.

This is a scenario straight from The Dark Knight Returns, what is widely considered to be a watershed event in comics. It helped bring Batman into the modern age.

And Superman doesn't kill (normally).

My first car was a 1960 Chrysler (like pictured). I had hoped to get it running and make it a makeshift Batmobile. I guess it's best that I ran out of money for that project.
