Hi,

I was reading the description of the updated Der Red Max, and it stated it came with "a new exlcusive der Red Max parachute. " Can someone please post a picture of this ? :pirate:Arrrrrgh.

Thanks, SS

I don't have a picture, but it is basically a black parachute with the Red Max's version of the Skull & Crossbones on it.

Someone posted a pic when the new DRM first came out. You could do a search, but the search feature on this forum won't let you search for 3 letter words.

That photo is courtesy of UKRocketeer. ;) I remembered who started the thread which featured the pic, so I searched UKRocketeers profile. It shows threads that he started or that were replied to by him. It wasn't hard to narrow it down that way. Glad I could help, Sabre.:)

That's the best part of the re-release. It helps make up a little bit for the missing white X882 and hands/feet decals. Ok, it doesn't make up for them, but it makes it a little less annoying. ;)

Unfortunately, the shroud lines are very weak. My son had a couple of lines break at ejection on the first flight. No, they didn't burn at all, just a straight break in the lines. His first flight was with an A8-3 which gave a near zero airspeed ejection...about as close to perfect as it will get.

I just got a Der Red Max, but I doubt I will use it. I'll just opt for a 14 in. nylon from some LOC kits.

I personally think the chute is a bit oversized. I flew mine on a C motor, and it drifted pretty far. Any amount of wind and you're going for a hike. It's probably not that bad with smaller motors. If you cut a spillhole, you mess up that cool graphic.:(

I still have 3 spools of the old Estes shroud lines, plus the shroud lines that come with the Old Designers kits. I replaced my Der Red Max Chute shroud lines with the old stuff. The old stuff is thin and super strong, I have never had any problems.

Yes you were..And you did a 'bang up' great job on it too! :)

Yeah, that chute is a tad over sized..I flew my Max a couple weeks ago at the SoAR launch and it drifted QUITE a bit, made for a good walk- but that's good, right? Exercise and all that, right?:rotflol:

And it isn't "fuzzy" causing it catch on stuff either.

Try some "Spider Wire" fishing line. I bought a big spool of it years ago at china-mart and have been using it ever since. You could pull a truck with the stuff.

Cut out the eyes and nose for a spill hole. I did, but have not launched it yet.
