Wasn't tough to find. Nick, you might want to change that up a bit for the time being to keep people from preparing. ;)

I think it looks exciting as well!

About 1 month left folks..... hurry up. What happened to some of you? Well that is why it is a challenge.

BTW- will a little bit of searching and/or intelligence you can have a sneak peek at the 2006 Challenge.

Ask Q's for the Q/A now...

Tell me what you think....

Nick
I'll tell you what happened... At the beginning of the year I thought I had plenty of time to get through them all so I took my time and put off starting some of them until later.

Then in the middle of the year, things got real busy at my job and after 10 hour days and a 2 hour commute on top of it, I would find myself having supper and checking the forums and not much else.

Now that things are beginning to ease up at work I find myself with not a lot of time left. Our club only has one scheduled launch left so some of the challenges I'm not going to get to.

That said, for next years challenge, I'm going to plan what each one will be and try and get a better head start on them.

Yeah, about the same with me. At the beginning of the year, I thought there was plenty of time, so I put it off. Life got busy in the middle of the year, so I put it off. Now it's almost the end of the and it's getting late to get the flights done. But I'm gonna do better next year.... yeah right!

I found the page on the 2006 contest and it looks really fun!!

Same here. Mid-year distraction was a job change that involved "50% travel" (now flying cross country for the 17th week out of 19) and a little work for NARAM.

Not sure if I'll finish up in time this year. Depends on how much time the virtual contest winds up taking.

It used to be fun rummaging through my build pile for the next thing to build. Now it's gotten so big as to be downright depressing.

This is where I'm at. I have only flown TWICE this year! Next year will improve, but I'm on a mission to use up all my motors and kits BEFORE buying anything else. If companies would just stop making those dern neato designs...

Oh woe is you :p

If more of us could only have that problem! haha

OTOH, this is a FAR MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM that needs to be rectified IMMEDIATELY. Dude, go outside & fly some rockets :D

Tried that. Didn't work. ;)

Next year I'm gonna start before August. When are you going to post the kit bash choices?

Woo-hoo! Finished the challenge last night, actually beating the deadline by a day. An my wife says I tend to procrastinate...

Now to get started on that Christmas shopping (celebrating with nephews/nieces 12/17).

I have a Question about #6 . What exactly do you consider a parallel cluster? The same motor that is not canted?

This is for 2006 Challenge which has not officially started. Still finalizing some things on the webpage. But...

Parallel Staging
A practice similar to clustering, in which two or more "stages" mounted parallel to the main motor ignite simultaneously. The "stages" usually contain shorter-burning, higher-thrust motors than the main airframe (or sustainer), and drop off when their motors burn out.

Okay, here's how it is going down: Tomorrow AM I will be sending all the names into a helper. Everyone that reached at least Bronze, went all the way to GOLD. Some had the max 39 points so get entered 3 times, the rest have either 34 or 31 and will get 1 entry.

The helper will place an alphabet letter next to each entry name and be the only one who knows this.

Another help, of which helper 1 does not know who helper 2 is, will pick letters for each of the prize winners.

The helpers are not participants.

I will not have any influence or control.

Keeps everyone honest with these prizes.

So by this time tomorrow we should have our winners!

I'm hoping to have more participants in the 2006 Challenge so start early.
