My son and I are relaunching LawnDart Rocketry after a few years off. I wasn't going to announce it until we had kits and supplies ready to roll out the door, but...

So, I have a few questions:
1. Which of the old LawnDart kits would you like to see back in production first?
2. For large fin/wing surfaces would you rather see a multi-piece balsa structure or a single piece of foamboard?
3. Who wants a mid power, BT-80 based X-15A-2? X-15 Delta? Bomarc? Natter? Bell X-1?
4. Do you like pre-printed paper over balsa or foamboard construction?

Look for the little Nike Smoke (now with a MMX adapter), SLAT/s, MIRV Gryphon (and possibly an 18mm version), 13/18/24mm Helicopter kits, and several semi-scale BT-80 based X-plane kits. I'm in the process of making molds for various parts right now.

Not giving a hard date as to the opening and we are not taking advance orders. However, if you want to be put on the e-mail list, send me a PM.

URL for our site is https://www.lawndartrocketry.info (or .ws, .us, .org, .net, .mobi, but NOT .com - don't ask, don't discuss, don't worry about it). Nothing reality there yet.

LawnDart Rocketry is a part of the Windsor Design Garage bringing affordable, cool personal transportation (small displacement motorcycles and trikes), wooden toys, rockets and other wonderfully weird stuff.

X-15A would be cool. I have not worked much with foam board so I can not really say if I would like it.

Dale, I'll be honest, I'm not familiar with your lineup, so I can't provide a useful response.

That said, I wish you and your son the best of luck -- I hope it's a very successful endeavor for you!

I have always been enamored with the MIRV, but you went and closed the business before I had a chance to buy it. I took it as a personal slight, but I got over it...
;)

I would also love to see some X kits. However, I wold vote for something that has not been heavily done before. As much as I like the X-15, it is been done to death. The delta wing would be nice. But anything that has not been done on 4 other sites will get my attention.

I also prefer to use Balsa rather than foam. And I definitely do not favor paper rockets. My hands just do not play well with paper.

But have you seen the X-15 based satellite launch platform or the extended fuel tanks?:)

See, that's what I mean. No fair doing that stuff if I am not going to be able to buy it. Better hurry up, I won't sleep until I can have it....

Hi Dale,

Any news on the LawnDart re-launch? I'd be keen on a Little Nike Smoke :)

LawnDart Rocketry (and several other projects) have been back-burnered while I take care of a little cancer.

Yeah, that'll change your priorities in a hurry! Get that licked, and then come back and play with us. :)

Some photos to make the wait worse

Very nice kits. I hope you get well soon and not just for the kits.

The orange colored rockets is the SLAT/s. BT-50, 18mm motors. Plan is to release a mid-power version as well (see https://www.rocketreviews.com/scratch-slats-upscale-by-emrr.html).

I'm working on getting the website (along with all the old motor information) back online. Bits and pieces coming together. First runs will be limited to about 30 kits per model. Of course, my forum buddies will get first crack.

Here's a quick pic of the X-1 prototypes. The bottom one will be the LawnDart kit. Still working on details. Nose cone and tail cone are expanded foam. 24mm motor.
