Another thread got me to thinking about this but I didn't want to hijack so I'll ask here. I got back into the hobby last summer by building a Mini Max. Then I started a Bullpup I've had for ages. I bought a Vagabond back last summer too. Anyway, I got sidetracked by a bunch of major honey do projects around the house and yard like finishing the deck for my above ground pool and putting in a dog fence and I'm just now getting back to rocketry and finishing up the Pup. Mean while the Vagabond also has sat in it's bag patiently waiting for me to put it together. I'm at a point now where I'm waiting several days to let the paint on the Pup to get good and super dry before decaling and finishing up and I could be starting the Vagabond but something in me wants to wait until I completely finish the current rocket I'm working on. Am I just strange or are there others out there like me??:rolleyes:

I think you're just strange.

I currently have at least four unfinished builds going.

I must be! My wife makes fun of me because I eat one course at a time at a meal. I eat "around my plate" finishing each thing before moving on to the next. When my mother was still alive, she said I'd always eaten that way, ever since I could start feeding myself.....LOL!!!

When I am in building mode, I *ALWAYS* have at least 2 and as many as 6 builds going at the same time. As of this writing, I have 5 going on, and 6 queued up.

But I need to do a better job of getting the various builds in different phases of completion. I get annoyed with myself when I end up with sanding/sealing/sanding/priming/sandingswearingsandingcrying on 6 builds all at the same time.

Now if I could just get more inspired to pay attention to the 100+ rockets that need repairs and refinishing...

I build multiple rockets at a time. However, with other hobbies it varies. I only work on one stained glass project at a time. I never even thought about it to be honest.

I occasionally work on one model at a time, generally when I am on a deadline. For example, I really wanted to "premiere" my Black Knight (MRN plan) model for a launch last weekend. I had plenty of other "stalled" or back-burnered builds I could have built in parallel, but I stuck with the Black Knight.

More commonly, I work on two or even three models at once. I think this helps me from getting impatient and rushing.

I currently have a number of builds on the go.

Two waiting for paint (both have been primed and base coated - just need to finish) and two still in pieces.

However, during this time I also built and finished another rocket!

Being mainly a scratch builder I always have multiple projects going on cause I am constantly waiting on parts.

Just one at a time. I already spend too much time sitting at my workbench in the basement when I should be doing something useful. Like playing golf.

I like knowing I have more than one project at a time to do. This allows me to work on something else when something is drying of glue, primer, paint....you get the picture. It comes in waves. There are times when I have no ambition at all and I shy away from my rockets. But when I'm in build mode, I best have 3 or 4 to work on. In build mode, I have to have a series of projects or I end up waiting on the one to complete the drying cycle. 3 at best.

Agree on multiple rockets at a time. Need to work on something while glue, primer, or paint is drying

I most always have multiple unfinished projects.

Its a man la....

Almost always two at a time. One in the build pile and one in design pile. Sometimes two in the build pile. If that happens ,one may get put down for a while for the newer build just to mix it up a bit---witness current builds! If I try to start a third my head explodes and nothing gets done !!:sigh:

multi tasker / multiple projects ... especially when they move into primer and paint phase

I think the picture answers the question. These are the one waiting for paint.

...my pile is like that...x5-6 :p I'm a binge builder. I can go for months then explode with 30-40 more. Vast majority are scratch from rocket parts orders. I don't buy kits, I buy parts. I do have 3 kits to build sometime, a Flis Decim8, an ASP WAC Coporal 24mm to 18mm and a 2x RAMJET I cut out a while back. What I have is 2 full boxes of tubes and about 50 nosecones... 31 of them are for 1 rocket, I've been kicking the fin design around in my head for a couple of years and I'm about to make a stab at it...soon as I get the photo thing down :p

...I like the one with 2 transitions in the back. I just built one that goes from a BT55 to BT5 with a paper transition, boy, are they a PITA :p

I have dozens and dozens and dozens and......I need another hobby like I need another hole in my head....piercing anybody?

Right now it is to early to tell. I am going to print out a Hobbylobby coupon and go there and see what they have and then go to the local HS and dig around in there stuff. so by this afternoon I might be in for a new build pile.

I typically build one at a time, as of right now the build pile consists of a Madcow 4" patriot, AeroTech G-Force, and Executioner. Just bought a 12 pack of Estes Bull Pups (Probably donate them to the local Boy Scouts Troop for their Merit Badge)

Right now I have four being built, most are built to post on the building blog.
But -
I usually build two of the same model at one time, so that makes eight models in progress.
I'm single and I can get away with that.

Down to three being painted (down from six). I can't stand unfinished rockets. I won't start another until these are completely finished. Everything has gotten backed-up on the painting line and that doesn't work for me, because now I'm rushing them a bit.

I'm more accustomed to giving my full attention to one (usually) or two at a time.
