I plan to be there and I should have a couple cool things with me. Ill keep you guys updated as I work everything out

If I can get it done in time, I will have my 4" Eagle Claw on a K456DM Sparky or K1103X Propellant X (new motor from AT) to either 3,500' or 4,500'. Should be loud either way!

I'll try to be there even though I have nothing to fly. Should be fun to sit and just take video though.

Will you be bringing your Darkstar 2 stage? I would like to get some ideas for mine.

My flights (so far)

4" Eagle Claw on a K456DM

3" two stage darkstar -"An I for an I" on an I600R to I140 Skid

38mm stealth on an I150

Cerulean Streak 2.0 on a ????????

Two stage Formula 54 on a G185 vmax to an F or G (ill see what I feel like on the field)

drag race- Wild Child vs Darkstar Mini on G88SS

and maybe a few others, depending on my motor stock. I need some more small stuff, all I have are J+ now...

What are the wind conditions typically like? I somehow I doubt it's as predictable as Lucerne Valley (calm and cool going to windier and hot).

While it isn't one of these locations always bothered by breezy conditions, the winds do vary from one launch date to another. We fly from a relatively central spot on the farm so no one wind direction is particularly troublesome. I'd say that with the exception of the first of two launches we had in May where the wind was getting close to 20mph at times, usually the breeze has been more in the 10 mph or less range. Early in the launch day and late in the afternoon tend to be the calmer periods, unless a front is approaching.

I hope you do make it out. We'd love to have you. It promises to be a very active launch day! :)

Looking forward to seeing that Eagle Claw on the K456DM. I have one of those reloads waiting to be used. Will be nice to see how it performs.

They are awesome motors, But I would leave out the ejection charge. I bought seven of them last year, and of the 4 flown I had issues with the delay on two of them, the other two I left it out. One time the ejection charge fired before the motor burned out and It killed my 4" DarkStar :( (currently repairing it)

Looks like scattered thunderstorms all weekend long. When would a go/no-go decision be made?

The good news is we are flexible enough that we can move it to the following weekend if needed.

Bad news is that I won't be able to attend if it is moved to the following weekend due to work. :( Hoping for the best.

Well, if we had to move the launch I would have more prep time! In all seriousness I hope the water this saturday clears up so we can go launching with Carvac and isobig, and also because its been a very long time since I lit a K... :D

Looks like there'll be a break in the rain tomorrow...And there'll definitely be no problem with sparkies. (Igniter leads shorting, maybe, but not accidental fires from showers of titanium)

Well due to the rain y'all are gonna have to see my eagle claw in its primered ugly glory because I couldn't get any paint on it. Should still be fun!

We are going to have to defer to our rain date of 6/15. The field is saturated which cause issues for parking, equipment and recovery. Stay tuned for more information. Lets hope we get a good week of drying out.

I knew this was gonna happen. Just cuz it was a weekend I could make it there. :( Oh well... hope everyone going next week has great weather and flights. Post the pics afterwards. :)

YouSoBig, 2nd Saturday of every month. We will see you soon enough. Put it in the books.

Unfortunately that means I will need to wait until Sept since all the other 2nd Saturdays of the month fall on my weekend to work. Looks like the CTRA invitational is that same Sat in Sept as well.

I'm sorry the launch got scrubbed this weekend. We just had too much rain too soon before the launch for the field to have a chance to recover from the deluge.

I'll give you this heads-up. If you do have any weekends off during the summer, check our site leading up to them. We expect to be dropping in a few additional launch dates during the prime flying months. We don't have any dates set just yet. It is likely these supplemental dates could occur with just a few days advance notice, thus checking www.radrocketeers.org periodically should keep you abreast of them, or you can follow us on Facebook.

I do hope schedules will mesh soon. We look forward to having you come fly with us. :)

Thanks Jim. I know you guys received alot of rain from the storm and how wet the field would be from it. No need to be sorry for that.

I do get every other weekend off so I will be checking for any additional dates before Sept. I am also looking to get a new job which will allow me to have every weekend off, so if that pans out I would be able to make it to the others.

Just a reminder that the rescheduled June launch is coming up this Saturday, June 15, 9am to at least 4pm. Though some more rains are expected on Thursday, the current forecast calls for sunshine returning Friday, and most importantly a sunny Saturday. We'll post an official launch status update by Friday evening. Check our site at https://www.radrocketeers.org or our Facebook page for updates.

A 5000 foot waiver will be in effect for high power flyers. We fly from a large farm, capable of flights up through Level 2 class impulses. We hope you'll drop by and check us out. We are just minutes from I-80 Exit 19 in Great Meadows, NJ. :)

The forecast for Saturday is sunshine, temps in the low 80s and a light northwest breeze. An awesome day for rocketry! We hope you'll come join us.

The range will be open from 9:30am to 6pm, with the 5000 foot high power waiver open from 10am to 4pm.

I got a Grand Total of 2,469' on the K456DM, and Im glad to say the saucer and building we hit are mostly unscathed. I got some really cool things planned for next launch, can't wait to see everyone there! Ill post the high speed camera footage I got as soon as it uploads.

It was great to see you today Tom! With some of the old abandoned buildings on the farm like that, I wouldn't be surprised if one good hit could knock them clean down. lol. Your flights were awesome! Already looking forward to the next launch. :)
