Probably not what you had in mind... but anyway...

3x29 on 3 G35s

That is a great shot, and an awesome looking rocket! Are there build pic's or build details around here that I've missed? I'd love to know more about it.

3x29 was built years ago... July of 2000 to be exact. It uses LOC parts and follows the LOC cluster models. (Side Note: LOC discontinued many cluster models stating on their site, easy access to large single reloads meant clustering was less needed/desired. Sad as it's still a skill to be mastered regardless of motor supply.) One of the more interesting parts of the rocket is my own take (and it is totally RUBE GOLDBERG) on the 'PML Intellicone' with in my case a G-Wiz LC for apogee deployment.

I'll include a picture here of the motor can as I am sure that will explain 99% of the build (and another launch picture to keep the moderators happy!)

I don't fly it often. But I do own 3 aerotech 29/240 casings and closures... someday... 3 H180's or H97s

Note the All-Thread down the middle of all the MMTs. That is where a fender washer and a nut provide motor retention on all three motors.

Three G38s go up in smoke.

Beautiful photos Mark! Are these from the foggy Snow Ranch launch?

Here's a photo of my scratch built 'Purple Fin' lifting off on an L1000 research motor.

I don't remember. I was too busy taking photos. :) I don't fly a lot of them because they cost more, and perform less. IOW less ns / $
For example, the I327DM produces 530ns in the Aerotech 38/720 case. Whereas a J350 or J420 are 100 to 150ns more.
Now now I know thats not everything. Especially to true Low-And-Slower's like ME.
Nonetheless you are losing a full G impulse for all those sparks and smoke. :)

Don't tell anyone... I bought 2 more H178's and two I327s :surprised:

So this is not as exciting as those big boys but this is my first launch on a RMS. I need to extract a pic from the video --- any decent free software to do this ???

Nice! my Hawk (up above) was my first RMS flight...pretty cool feeling, you did a nice job.

VLC is an open source video player, and you can capture screen shots with it. check out https://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

Very cool feeling. A little anticipation :eyepop: as you press that launch button for the first time wondering if you put it together correctly or will it explode on the pad.

Thank you for the link --- easy to use, it got the job done, and the price was right.

Here's a video I've had around for a while... one of my 4-H kids designed and built a rocket using heavy-duty BT-70 tube and a 3x24 engine mount. The video is the first and only launch, on 3x E9-6 engines. It was really cool. Many people said it wouldn't survive flying, or wouldn't fly at all, but the simulation said it would and it did. Drifted 2000' back into town, though... we really didn't know how to size the parachute, and it appears that 52" wide is a bit too big.
