Might take a little getting used to...I think we can work with it.Brady-Bunch-tv-12.jpg

BTW there is a stripped down mobile version available at the bottom of the page for those that feel the new look is too "Puffy"

I like it over all, but even when I select "Remember Me" upon logging in, I still have to log in again on my next visit.

Try clearing your browser cache, also making sure you don't have something that filters cookies.

It looks like the new attachment uploader will let you select multiple files at once to upload, so now it should be even easier to upload multiple pictures than it was before.

Cheers,
Phil
yep, and you can re-arrange them in the order you like, unlike the really old version (and still running on some other sites) that seems to have a random order. I like that...but it was confusing at first as a bunch of other pictures I had previously posted in the thread (a build thread) appeared too.

Is there a way to make the "advanced reply" the default when you hit "Reply"?

Kevin, You've done a really good job babysitting this bunch today. I'm sure you knew there would be plenty of pos & neg with all the changes you guys have made. It's like anything else. People get used to something and usually don't like change very much. I for one hate upgrades but sometimes it is necessary.....I guess. For what it's worth, I don't mind the changes you have made although all I have done today is post a message or 3. I haven't dealt with uploading photos and such but so far it works for me. I am curious about 1 thing though, are you still only supporting the same photo/video sites like before? I have Photobucket and was curious if it was usable here now.

OK, I having used it even more now, I REALLY REALLY don't like the "Default" document icon thing. If no custom header/icon is used, just delete that "default" icon and the vertical space it takes up and get straight to the post itself.

Love the multiple-select picture thing. HAven't used it yet but will soon.

It's a very pretty site, even if we do find details to quibble over. The most important thing about this site hasn't changed: the community of people participating in the discussion!

Admins, I hope you sleep well tonight knowing it was a job well done.

As long as Photobucket will allow us to embed links, it will work.

Video URLs from Hulu, YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Metacafe, Google and facebook are supported.

Upgraded software and a new look... Kevin, I'm jazzed that you-
- had the time to do this.
- had the energy to do this.
- remain personally invested and interested in providing this community for all us rocket nuts.

Thanks for all you do !
... oh yeah, I'm diggin the blue. Reminds me of YORF :duck:

Not just me -- there's a whole team that helps run this place, and each one of them had a hand in this. :)

:bangpan:

:)

The blue came from the logo -- we knew we needed a color scheme, but it had to fit with the logo. Once the logo was done, we went from there on the colors.

I must admit I'm starting to like the new look... this morning I did NOT like it, guess I had to get used to it!!

Other than the (very minor) issue with Forumrunner I like it. A change for the better as far as I can see. Thanks for providing this forum free of charge Kevin et. all.

Not sure if this has been mentioned...

For what it's worth I'm running win7 x64 and IE9.

When folks post an OpenRocket .ork file, the link works fine, but the "icon" or picture is broke.

I'm going to give this another shot. All of the threads have the same, "STARTED BY" note. This tends to hide the name of the member posting the thread in the middle of the note rather than putting he or she up front. Why not drop the "started by" and bold up the handle? This would add a bit of sophisticated attention to the person who started the thread.

I have discovered that my problem only happens on the first page that I visit. For example, it will say that I am not logged in, but if I click on a thread or any page at all, it will say that I am logged in on that page. If I return to the homepage by any means other than the back button, it will keep me logged in. This problem never happened before. Just in case it matters: I am using Chrome on Windows 7 64 bit.

HELP!!!

Hackers have taken down my favorite forum and replaced it with this obviously fake circus poster-themed "Rockets For Kids Are Fun!" webpage! :y:

Just kidding. :p

It's...it's...interesting.

(And thank you, MSFT, for Ctrl-+ !!!)

My only quibble is that the update made the script I use to filter out forums from the search results (like news feeds, area 51, and the watering hole) not work any more.

Wow -just logged ona and its all change, up into the wild 'blue' yonder.

I like the look of the new forum. Its a bit more fun and inviting.

Congrats and thanks to the sites owners and mods for whats a lot of work - I know I used to run a forum myself and its a lot of stress and headaches very often and with small thanks.

So from me - have a hug xxxxx and thanks for all your hard work.

Overall, not bad. The only thing that works different then the last version that I don't like is the Quick Navigation at the bottom of the page. When I'm at the end of the thread, I want the quick navigation to take me back to list of threads. It's not Quick if I have to open a menu and scroll down to get to where I want. The option is to use TOP and then click the navigation links along the top. Either way is much slower then the old way of just clicking the quick nav to get the thread list again.

I agree..That is how I always navigated before..Have brought it to Kevin's attention(I think he has seen it in the MODs forum)..There should be a way to make it as it was before, or this just may be the 'nature of the beast' for this new version of software..

BTW, for those of you looking for the old "There are xx unread posts" link, click "New Posts" in the grey nav bar.

While I generally like the look, my only complaint is that the topics should be large-bold, not the OP. I evaluate threads by topics, and not who the OP is. So for me, it has diminished the functionality of the forum on just that one thing alone. But I have "older eyes".

Filter updated for those that use it. Click the "d" in my sig below.

Seems to work on Chromium, so should work on Chrome too, and if I have the correct meta info should work in Firefox+Greasemonkey too (I vaguely recall that Chrome and Firefox had different syntax for the line that determines which URLs to apply the filter on). The IE7 pro version is not updated, and I have no way to test.

right now I need to work out why the script that nukes the mouseover on thread listings no longer works...
