Question for all of you, has anyone, ordered a longer 29 mm MMT? for their upgrade. If so what size and did you change the spacing on the rings or added a fourth one?

I now have a Vander-Burn upgrade set on-hand, but in the first DBRM I built, using the stock cardboard rings, I extended the motor mount with a section of BMS T52H (using a short length of BT55 coupler on the outside to join the tube sections) and added a forth ring forward, a spare BMS 3" to 52H I happened to have on hand.

Will likely do that for the others too. Whether I want to fly a long motor or not, it keeps the laundry forward and requires less nose weight (none - according to sims - in the one I built so far, using a chute release and heavier-than-stock shock cord and chute).

How are you guys attaching the Kevlar shock cords? Through the top CR and wrap around the MMT? I'm sticking with the stock paper CRs, so there's not much of substance to attach to. I hate the trifold paper mounts (just another spot for a chute or something to catch on).

I epoxied a 150 lb. steel fishing leader in a loop alongside the motor tube and looped kevlar through the steel loop so it's simple to replace.

Make a set of holes along the MMT for a coffee stirrer, or small straw to pass thru the 3 CR's. Then loop the Kevlar around the end of the motor mount at the retainer.

This is pretty cool! However, I'm showing BT-55 -> 3.0" upscale as 226%. Did you actually upscale to 266%, or is that a typo?

Yep, it’s a typo. 226% is correct.

Putting a Eggtimer Apogee into the coupler with Motor eject as backup. At least that way if core engine doesn't light. It gets the laundry out. Of if 1 or 2 side engines don't light; then at the lower than planned apogee it will deploy. ( long before the core motor will.)

Cut Prime and associated benefits including video over a year ago, and not missing it one iota. And realize Amazon's not always cheapest by far, is easy to get to $25 for free shipping that is reasonably quick (very few things are urgent purchases), Prime shipping time was missing the mark more and more, returns became more difficult, and Walmart (gag, but so it is...) and others are providing active competition to Bezos' model.

Not to mention the recent price increase for Prime...
