I was told by Gary, as I recall, that you need to loosen the closures for storage or the o rings will deform and not seal.
That makes sense to me VTS SkunkWorks !

( :) especially if you're storing the motor for 23 years :) )

And I suppose I would try to remove the 4F Ejection Charge before loostening the Fwd Closure so the BP does not find it's way between the Ejection Well O-Ring and the Well Walls ( or don't put any BP in the Well in the first place ).

What about DMS or Single use motors? They stay assembled for years without an increase in volatility. I have flown stored assembled motors that have been sitting for up to a year without issue.
I don't know how time and compression would affect the integrity of the oring sealing points. I have heard every method you could think of and tried a few. I am going on acquired experience.
Please chime in with opinions or any published facts you are aware of.
I learn something every day.
