When you have a payload it's cheap insurance to have a screamer, another nifty trick is a kite flasher. Fresh batteries and both have been known to run for hours. The kite flasher is for, of course, night use. Lose it in the day, come back at night and find easily.
Where can you find a kite flasher at and do they add much extra weight? This was only a CC Express I'm wondering if the fob camera may have been pushing the weight thing. And what's a screamer?
Oh yeah, went back out there today, beat the grass, cedar scrubs, every dinky little wash-out I could find and came up with nothing. Even took a younger set of eyes. There was even an old wooden crate tossed into one of the washouts and I checked it in the astronomical chance that it landed in it...zilch. The only possible explanation...aliens. If I were looking for jackrabbits and golf balls it would have been a huge success. Live and learn I guess. Three hours of combing that landscape; I don't think it was meant to be recovered.
