The Family Car

Hey all just wanted to share in the trip of building and flying the family car.

I wanted to do a rocket that had some classic lines and some silliness.

Hope you all like it.

Build using estes 2.5" (top part of the argent)

Boat Tail in Fins out of 1/8" hobby ply

Now with paint and detail

I used a plastic pointy thing and white glue to make the rivets (they are not perfect)

I used 110 cardstock to make the raised areas and the 'panel lap joints'

Finally added the family - funny enough this gave me some issues... I printed out our pics in blue circles of the proper size, then laminated the front with clear packing tape... about 45 minutes later I reprinted and laminated BOTH sides with packing tape and glued to the rocket.

Due to the nose weight needed to get this sucker up to 1cal I launched the first time on a CTI E30 - not nearly enough oomph (SP?)
So i went to an aerotech E30 that got it moving
