Hi all. I will admit that I haven't spent much time in this section of TRF.
I volunteered recently to do a STEM rocketry module for 8-10 year olds. I'm still in planning stages and am going to meet with the program coordinator tomorrow. Anyway, I had built an air rocket launcher that can be used inside. The kids will "roll their own" 8.5x11 paper over a mandrel and tape on some fins. I put a 50 psi pop valve on the PVC launcher so that it can't be over pressured. I also am thinking of using the Quest water rocket system with various PET soda bottles. (I have one that I haven't tested yet.)
The 10 year olds may be able to do some simple Estes/Quest mod rocket kits but there is an expense with that. (No sure of budget yet.)
So.....any suggestions for simple, card stock rockets that these kids could build with Estes/Quest motors? (I did find 1975 plans for the Paper Tiger rocket that one teacher used.) Thanks!
