Wanting to add an LED for the power on status to my Strattologger.

I have used a Mono 6.35mm Jack as my switch. Could I wire an LED along the positive battery in and then negative on the switch?

This way it'll only work when powered on with the switch and not affect the power needed when charges go off etc.

Wanting to mount the LED on the airframe

You can connect your own "external" LED to the "Audio" connector. (looks to be a 2mm pitch JST socket... can't put a hand on my unit to verify).
Check page 41 of the user manual for pinout... no mention of drive capability (sinking, sourcing), but keeping an LED to ~20ma should be a safe bet.

Mating connector is TE 440129-3 (white). Socket is TE 1735801, you need two. There's a drop resistor on the board so you can use a regular LED. Don't know the rating.
