I'm leaning toward using epoxy for LPR fins just to avoid the multi-step fillet problem that comes with water-based glues. I can choose my filler depending on the strength & weight required for a given build.
I usually only do one round of fillets with Q and T. I was using epoxy and was tired of mixing and pouring it. Glue was the best choice here, especially the way I wanted the fins a little off the body tube. Normally one round at all once and they are finished in 2 mins with TB Q&T.

Egg finder or no, I think when you get to the highest impulse motors planned, the rocket will need a middle name.

I'm pretty good at not being an idiot. And many guys make minimum diameter rockets like this and they survive. 23,000 feet on an H motor was the new record a few days ago at Balls 28? This won't see that, unless its an occasion that I'm paying respects(death) and I know I'm not getting it back. That case, everything comes out and its and 8 dollar rocket plus a few upgrades. I'll build new one. I'm maxing out many of my rockets on 18, and 24mm. So its time for 29mm.

Got the area cleaned up yesterday and marked the lugs. I'll get them on and finally do the eyelet and nosecone.

No insult or offense intended.
I understand. I think some see this and think I'm going to stuff an H motor in it right away. Honestly the first motor will probably be a B or C depending on final weight. I had a E Baby Bertha I built a few months back and the fins are warped and it was too unsafe to launch on anything over a B6-4. I was going to build another one and starting thinking I'll do it in 29mm for fun. I get your point at a certain point it will disappear and probably disintegrate right about that same point. My plan is to not have that happen, but I could allow it at some point and if that's the case next one gets glassed.

I let those dry overnight and just did fillets with TB Quick and Thick. I'll wait a little then flip and do the other side.

Motor retainer was dry, left the spent motor in it overnight. Flipped it and did the lug fillets on the other side just now.

Moved the dowel rod zipper stopper, and put a thick bead of Thick and Quick on the shock cord. Slide it back up and let it dry. I had cork but wanted to use that for my Crossfire...

This is another one I've put on hold, might have a test flight soon. It won't be any more than that but I'm getting a few ideas for this, also still looking at trackers. I'll get what I need soon, and finish these half done projects before anymore new builds.

I've since sanded it down, it need a little more sanding then paint. Im also thinking of changing the recovery system a little.
