I tried the technique to model a few saucers. It appears to place the CP too far aft.

I have tried varying the length of the cone, but Rocksim 8 is behaving weirdly when I try to vary the cone size.
 
The article says this works for cones too? If so that will make all the difference to a design I've been toying with for a while. I think some sub-scale test vehicles are in order! ;)
