Roll pattern painting

I am about to paint the roll pattern on my 3" Patriot. What is an easy way to paint the pattern? I have a couple ways I could do it but I am almost positive there is an easier way...

monocote. Cut it out, sick it on. No worry about masking or anything.

Monokote likes to bubble though...and with the heat the way it is here, it would probably peel. But then again...if I were to clear coat it, it shouldn't...

Ideas???

I figured out an ok way to paint the pattern. I printed a mask and taped it to the rocket then taped off the part I didnt' want painted. I guess this is just as easy as any...

Here's the results of my mask. I think it turned out very nicely. I also think this is my best paint job of them all...maybe....
