Something which I've never had to do is remove West System or alike epoxy. Luckily not a layer of epoxy, but a fillet 2" long.
I've read that to remove epoxy, you heat it. Ok, that sounds good and all, but what I mounted is a lens to a piece of aluminum. I am somewhat surprised at how strong the actual bond is between glass and aluminum but then again, it's epoxy. Now, the lens contains an LED that is worth some $ and the lens is glass not plastic. I do not want to harm the LED, or I would throw it in the stove at 300F.
What temperature will typically allow me to pop the object out of the epoxy?
