The internet was going crazy with claims and countclaims that this was a hoax.
Nobody wanted to believe that it might be possible and so ironic.
It's for real, people.... people do die in auto crashes...not all of them are their fault.

Magnesium and composite 600hp 1/2 million car w/ gas tank right behind seats. Combine that w/ (I estimate at least 60-80mph by dozens of pics and video) taking out a concrete lite post and knocking sideways a 6"dia tree.
But, you can find the exact spot of accident on street view, it also ran over what looks to be a gas line, which is directly below where the middle of the car sat.
Probably locked in w/ 5pt restaint but couldnt escape one hot quick fire.
Considering all the safety builds in this car, they may have survived w/out the fire.
Yes a tragedy, but nothing like 4 people dieing in NY train accident. Those people had no control over their fate.
