Next was my Apogee Rockets Quickdraw with the 3x24 mount. I used three D12-5s with MJG tiny e-matches. I tested each ematch on my meter first. Then I tested one on the controller with continuity. Just to make sure. I had done that before at home, but since my system gives you a continuity reading the moment its hooked up (at a measure 18ma) I thought it best to check anyway. This is only an issue with e-matches. All three lit and powered on up to 821 ft (250m) with a good deployment. There was a ‘slight’ melt of the chute right at the edge on one side, so it spun a bit on decent. Need more protection with three charges.

I launched my Apogee Aerodactyl two stage. E16 to a E16-6. It SEEMs to me in the pictures the E16-0 CATO’d. However the booster is vented, and to me the huge fireball should have ignited the sustainer. But maybe the pressure was just too great, or that huge chunk of propellent could not get up the nozzle. Anyway the sustainer did not light. However it spun horizontally on the way down. Sort of like a huge tumble recovery. Spinning along the longitudinal axis. Landed flat. And was fine. The altimeter one said 150 feet (46m).

Second to last was the new built Newway Cornered. It flew on 2 B6-4s. The launch was pretty odd as it took of with both engines lit, but when a bit horizontal. Maybe next time I’ll add one washer to the nose just the see. It recovered fine from all of 150’ (46m).

The Rocketarium Gadfly flew on 3xC6-5s. Got all three lit (except for the QuickDraw I used a clip whip on the Cornered, TwoUp, and Gadfly - the QuickDraw was the only one I used e-matches on and twisted together). Still it took off pretty severely to the east and separated as well as ripping 3 of 6 shroud lines. However thanks to my friend Greg and a woman who had seen where the rest of it went down I got back the payload section (with the altimeter) and the body. All intact. The image shows some rod bend. 3/16 rod… have to noodle that. Altimeter One said 651’ (200m) which is more than I thought.

So that was it. Seven flights (8 if you count two on the Aerodactyl), 14 motors, 332ns total impulse give or take. Just over a full H.
Since I wrote the other part of the story in the thread “What I did rocketry wise today”, I won’t repeat that here. It’s as painful as I write this today as it was yesterday when I launched.
