parachute packing vs. CG

as i move forward with my L1 cert..

when packing my shock cord, and parachute... should i be packing them all the down the BT next to the bulkhead.? or just placing them into the BT i was thinking that the pressure of the launch would 'pack' the cord and 'chute towards the bottom of the BT. obviously loosely packing the shock cord and 'chute will change the CG.

You are correct. Launch will shove gear down as far as it will go. Make sure there is nothing to hang it up on, screws and such. If I have room I like to add another tube inside main tube to put chute and cord in. Keeps everything neater.

Or use a "laundry shelf" to hold that mass up toward the front of the rocket where it belongs.
